reset the laptop by removing the battery, if it is a removable one, press and hold the power button for 1min. and reinsert the battery back.

I tried it and it worked very fine but after restarting the system again the problem started

i think, your laptop needs general servicing. you have to take it to a Pc technician

How many times does it blink?

So many things can cause a blank display,the number of blinks will help narrow it down.

It blinks 3 times, then pauses and blinks 3 times again, and it continues in that way till I shut it down

There's nothing you can do,other than for you to see a laptop technician that will flash the BIOS.

you have to download the latest bios on another laptop and copy it to a flash drive, read the procedures online, and flash it or upgrade it on your laptop.

My laptop (window 8.1) consume internet data a lot.
I only use Chrome but the way it suck data is killing and I'm very sure there are some background stuff consuming the data which is not the chrome.

If you have OS on it before, There maybe shift on your HDD . Remove and re-insert the HDD
