Darocksvip:It depends on where u are landing. I also don't think it is very easy for u to get an apartment straight up cos most landlords in Ontario would demand for ***, letter of employment, PR Card and all. Your best bet would be to get an Airbnb till after your quarantine after which u can get your SIN. Also be ready to pay for 6months rents in advance (first 3 months and last 3 months), this seem to be the standard requirement by landlords for newcomers in canada. I had to pay 4 months rent upfront with lots of begging. If you are landing in Pearson and your final destination aiint far off, I can volunteer to pick u up for free. Don't thank me, someone also did same for me 7months ago when I first landed with my family. 32 Likes |

Hello everyone. Is a gross salary of 50,000 CAD per annum considered a good salary for somwhere like Ottawa? Can one live a comfortable life with that? |

yunqdady:And your point is? when will you break free from this backward mentality? Some of you have just refused to evolve. Please take several back seats if you can't be progressive 10 Likes |

TCD:50k per annum is not bad for a single person. That's an average range of 1.4k - 1.5k bi weekly. Rent for a single person in Ottawa should be around 1k max 3 Likes |

TCD: You'd be able to make ends meet depending on your lifestyle. But it's a decent salary for Ottawa. 1 Like |

seunpinky:You should never give a landlord your SIN. That should never happen. No landlord even has the right to be demanding your SIN. And if they demand PR card or international passport, make sure to blot out sensitive details. That should be a significant priority! 10 Likes 1 Share |

ednut1:I have changed houses several times and have never given and will never give a landlord my SIN. There are many real estate agencies out there who do the right thing. You only sound like this because you haven't gone through the experience of a compromised SIN. Those who have ears, let them hear... 13 Likes |

Please house, need urgent response For someone who is on a work permit and intends bringing in his family, what route do you advise that he use. Should he bring the spouse through spousal sponsorship on open work permit, and then process PR for the family after or he should wait and get PR first before bringing the family. Can he include the family in the PR application because the wife and children are in Nigeria. Province is ---Saskatchenwan |

yunqdady:Lmao, Look here young man, you're not as smart as you think. Come off it! I can bet everything on it. In fact, you and the word smart should not be put in the same space judging from your comments on this thread and forum in general. Your comment is nothing a smart person will post about. Go back and read your comment and ask if a knowledgeable person would sound like that. You call that comment of yours a debate? Come down from your high horses! I won't brag about how smart or intelligent I think I am but boy, you're no where near it and I don't think highly of myself to think I can't be wrong. That's one of the first signs of intelligence. Please don't misuse that word again. Just like Theseventeenth has said, you think so highly of yourself and you're nothing close to the level of smartness you think you have. You have a lot of learning to do, please grow up! Learn to be teachable and progressive as well, because you are not and you need to be. 5 Likes |

You see that thing about Canada is cold. It kinda a lie o. Yes it is cold but it is not like the cold would kill you. The people who said Canada is very cold did not say that there are different temperatures in Canada. GTA is experiencing 2 to -5 degrees while their counterparts in SK, AB and MB are experiencing - 20 and above. My advice is that, make informed decisions. There is always a price to pay. If you are running from GTA for expenses, the temperature is harsher in other places and jobs may not be as high as GTA due to lower standard of living. Shalom. |
