The question is who am I trying to impress? Most of the things you will do that day will no longer matter after the wedding.

We live in a generation where the need to oppress and pepper others is more important than peace of mind and true joy. But, that is not me. I'm too old for that shit grin
yes someone told me she wanted an elaborated wedding because she want to beat his friend that did a own some years back..I was just looking at her

Imagine!! A day that should be memorable to her but she decided that she was dedicating it to pepper her friend. Misplaced priority undecided

No Nigerian bride will agree to this type of wedding. They rather remain unmarried.
I completely disagree.

[s]Most Nigerians are not this romantically minded.

You see? Even to you, it's about the cost. How cheap and below standard it looks.
Me, I see intimacy.[/s]

Majority of Nigerian girls that love lavish owambe type of wedding, they will never accept it.

They approved of it and were happy, but they stayed in a different state from where we got married.

I mentioned it to a few friends and told them it was a small one so they needn't have to bother.

Not true I was once a bride, and this was what I wanted. Though it was not possible or will be selfish, because I have 4 siblings 2 in-laws and 4 nephew and a niece at that time. Guyman even hard a bigger family. So why will I not want all these people presences in a supposedly once in a live time event?.
We a very communal in Africa and even the oyibo envy this
