Vincent Aboubakar with 4 goals already. Wow. Ekambi with 2 goals.
I used to wish Anguissa was Nigerian and we'll pair him with Ndidi. That guy is too good.

Quality powerful striker Aboubakar is bossing the Ethiopians, two goals to his name. It looks like Ethiopia are going to be flogged and Aboubakar should get a hat trick.

After having a decent career in Europe he has gone to Saudi Arabia for the$£$££.

He is playing in the same league as Odion "Unbeatable" Ighalo who is the top goal scorer in that league. But some how there are some here high misguided that think he's not good enough for the SE.

That the young pretenders like Awoniyi and Sadiq are better.

Before this match, i didn't because I saw how they conceded early to Burkina Faso. Even when this match started, I was doubtful because of their shaky defense. Right now, I do cos they seem to have understood the problem in the defense and ensured a compact midfield. Look at the speed of their counters and their transitions. They're dangerous.

Lovely one time crosses by the Cameroonian wingers resulting in two goals.. Intelligent pass and crosses by wingers will make defence look poor..

Our own wingers will dribble, dance zazoo zeh until all defenders arrive..

Someone that has been telling whoever cares to listen that eagle's pattern rely heavily on wing play.
Yes our game traditionally depends on wing play but we have never done well with wingers who put their heads down and run to the opponent's box.

I jus love this Ethiopian team, 4-1 down and still playing high passing possessive football.... Cameroon jus too strong for them, they play like South African though

If we top our group, we might meet Ghana in the Quarterfinal and Senegal in the Semis.

I have the Beinsports USA 10mins.32secs video highlights of the game right here and I've seen it...all of it...everything over and over.

He had passing options in that sequence of play. A little delay, a little pause...and he could have easily picked out Iwobi or Umar.

And let's not talk "what ifs". He didn't pass. Neither did he score.

Look, Meliforme... this is not a put-down of Ejuke who I strongly rate as one of the most game-changing wingers in African football today. Arguably the best Winger in Russia currently too.

This is only a pointer on something I know he can improve upon: His decision making in certain situations of play.

He has to balance out when to go it alone and when to seek out a teammate. He will learn, Meliforme. I trust he will but he was damn frustrating on Tuesday. That's the truth.
Forget whatever they say to justify Ejuke's greedyman style on the day, truth is that the moment Nwakali sent him going, dude had no intention of passing the ball. All his mind was bent on scoring the goal himself and he made a mess of a fine opportunity.
If he had passed the ball and the whole move yielded nothing, many fans would appreciate his gesture and the fact that he played for the team.
Moses Simon by contrast might not always put in a good shift but he ALWAYS plays for the team.

He needs to work on it fast..so he doesn't become another Musa with pace and skills and poor end product...
When he and Sadiq were introduced into the game, so many people at the viewing centre I watched the game didn't know who they are (most Nigerians don't follow the super eagles or it's players except when there's a major tournament). I told my guy neighbor who was there with me that Ejuke was a proper baller. You need to see the look he gave me after he missed that opportunity grin.
We have always been blessed with wingers who posses incredible pace and skills but with poor decision making.. I wonder why...
The best I watched was Finidi. O boy, man could lay cross.

Unpopular Opinion

A handball or a foul that does not impede a goal scoring action in the 18 yard box should be given as an indirect freekick rather than a penalty
I am tired of all these cheap VAR hand ball penalties. A goal shouldn't come that easy na

Please anybody close to the coaching team, please pass this info.

Against Sudan.
1.Ball on the ground, except long diagonally balls.
2. Wingers and strikers must be alert to take quick crosses, sudan are poor at defending crosses, taiwo, iheanacho, aribo should be running into the box always to attack crosses. Ndidi stays at the edge of the box.
3. Quick 1/2 must be practiced, they will most likely park the bus, it should be easy to beat then with 1/2s, most African minnows don't have the position awareness.
4. Worst thing we can do, is for our wingers to be trying to dribble the whole team or puffing long balls unnecessary, we will just get frustrated.

Quick 1/2 interplay, quick crosses with attackers attacking spaces, Sudan will collect, even them will be shocked

Will you keep kwayet. You a grown up for crying out loud. Did Nigeria omit Ighalo's name? Abubakar is playing against Ethiopia, what the bejesus is wrong with you old man, if he scores a hat trick so what? How many goals did Oliver Giroud score for France at the last world cup which they won? Zilch! So long as Awoniyi keeps doing the right thing and as long as we keep progressing by the game that's fair enough.

I hate those kind mumu wingers. Cross abeg. Sharp attackers either score from it or pounce on second balls

Your first line is funny. We couldn't achieve consistently smooth ball-playing vs Egypt with that same first XI personnel. We simply rushed our buildups, pressed them when we were out of possession and moved upfield as quickly as possible. We were outpassed by a team we created more chances against.

Outpassed in the Egyptians final third? Yeah, I agree to that

So expecting that same exact XI to control a game like let's see against an Algeria or Morocco won't happen. They will simply do what they did against Egypt or most of it.

Oh please! What difference would you find between Egypt and them all? Algeria struggled against Sierra Leone, morroco played a part in the worst game I have seen so far in this tournament whilst the SE dominated the eygptians with chances to put up a 4:0 scoreline. So why are you sure we can't do the same against them with out doing it the Barca way?

Against Sudan, ofcos they will win. Ofcos they will also have possession because Sudan will sit back out of too much respect for us. But how do we cope if Sudan puts up a really deep block? What happens when they sit too damn deep & only proper ball playing can break them down for good? Hmmm...

And what does Prime Barca has to do with this? See why you just don't jump in and make a comment? If you know the history of all my analyses on this team, there would be no need for such irrelevant talk. Next time, find the context. I don't make bogus analyses. I analyse based on what is available to the team and we have the tools for whatever I am talking about unless you don't see it.

Hello! It appears I'm in a conversation with Guardiola.Correct?

And yes, some of them don't press at their clubs but we saw the team deliver a gen-gen press Masterclass against Egypt. And they sustained it for the better parts of the entire duration till the whistle. So it is possible.
And you make it sound like, we are playing Cameroun next, it is Sudan. I expect our pressing energy won't have to be as much as we applied against Egypt since we would be having more of the ball.

It's not sustainable.Suppose a first team player gets injured who comes in without a drop in quality of performance? You saw what happened with subs in the last game?

Finally, I don't suffer amnesia. I know it's a tournament. But maybe you need to be reminded about what applying certain tactical changes that uplifts the team's overall technical strength leading to convincing wins especially against lesser opposition, can do for a team looking to progress as far as the final.
It keeps belief high and it also gives a team tactical varieties to keep the opposition guessing. You don't wanna be predictable on all sides.

My point is; unless it's becomes faulty, don't change it! It's good against Egypt, with more practice and cohesion it will be better vs Sudan

He reasons and talks like Rohr

Rohr (Komekn) told football magazine World Soccer: “Nigeria don’t have these big stars like Jay-Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu or Victor Ikpeba. [Wilfried] Ndidi isn’t yet a star; [Kelechi] Iheanacho not yet either.

“They don’t have any players in Liverpool, Manchester, Munich or Chelsea, which is the case for Senegal, Egypt, and Ivory Coast.

“The biggest clubs are perhaps Leicester, or possibly Napoli with Victor Osimhen.

“When you don’t have the players in fantastic clubs, playing the semi-finals or quarter-finals of the Champions League all the time, you cannot pretend to be better than Algeria or Egypt.

“That is the question of football without stars. It is more collective football.
