I did something slightly similar. I took a full job, during my last semester meant for internship. I know the employer contacted the home office for guidance, as I got the university to issue a letter saying I had concluded all taught modules and exams ,which the employer then presented to the HO for guidance before giving me the job, then subsequently T2 sponsorship.

You don scam innocent people wey dey give confirm update for this thread embarassed.

@justwise @lexusg430 I need your thoughts.
A friend came to the UK on a Tier 4 visa in September and was randomly applying for some permanent roles to test the water and see how employable he is. Now he’s got a company that has the ability to sponsor him on a T2.
Is it possible to switch visa completely before the 3 months to the end of course rule? If he’s able to combine work and school, can he continue with the masters program while working full time on the Tier 2 visa?

It's possible tho, If you read a page before this current one, you'll see where one did such but it was few months to the end of studies. You just need a letter still going by what others did here

I guess a letter will suffice in this case, cos I believe HO would definitely be notified

Please wait for other contributions
I still dey learn

He can choose to differ his studies of employer/school won't allow him to do both.

Bluetherapy just copied and pasted Kode12's question from 2020. I guess Bluetherapy's scam statement was just to say that Kode12 said that he was asking for a friend when he infact was the one faced with the situation at the time.

I'm glad that they gingered you. I'm rooting for you..

If you get out of an interview, please write down the questions immediately as most similar positions within an organisation (especially NHS) repeat same questions in different ways.

For newbies (ie students, spouses of students etc) who have a need for T2 sponsorship at some point, please apply part time to jobs similar to what you want If you can't get the full time ones immediately.
The NHS banks and the current Vaccination Programmes are very good avenues to get in and it kinda makes it easier to progress into more permanent positions that can sponsor.
Target the band 5 jobs as that's where most Trusts start with the work visa sponsorship for admin-related positions. For Healthcare support worker roles, you can get sponsorship from band 3 with enough opportunities for progression (ie. Trust-sponsored Nursing or AHP training).

Many Trusts don't really care if most of your experience is outside the UK as long as you can demonstrate that you meet the job criteria, have transferable skills and can hold your ground in an interview. I've had someone get a job on the 1st try with experience from a non-English speaking country despite being scared about not being proficient in English.

One Trust that does well with training is Guy's & St Thomas. They also encourage professional development in many ways:
1. They have an internal Graduate Trainee Scheme (similar to the national scheme) which is open to staff with permanent contracts or contracts that cover the program duration. This enables you to progress to senior mgt positions within the Trust.
2. They have fully-sponsored apprenticeship programs (project management, Data analysis etc) for staff with permanent contracts or contracts that cover the program duration. Also loads of clinical and non-clinical trainings.

Outside healthcare, if you want jobs in an industry and it seems a tad difficult, try getting in via the internship routes. Get as much experience as you can in that sector, do free courses on LinkedIn, EDX, Coursera and the likes if you feel that you need to brush up or build familiarity in the lingo of your target industry. I know someone who got a Snr Analyst job with Nigerian finance sector experience.

If you see a job that you can do but you doubt that you'll get it, get into a corner and gas yourself so much that you'll start relating the job criteria to situations in the past where you demonstrated similar skills. If you don't get it, on to the next one with better prep.

Skilled work visa no be beans... I have applied for at least 400 jobs since november.

Must people wont even consider you when they see you need sponsorship, as thats the first question they ask.

Some are on sponsorship list but are still reluctant to sponsor, even though occupation is on the skilled worker list and the salary is more than the required threshold.

I had two very promising interviews in december, the next step in one was to talk with CISO, I come oversabi ask them about sponsorship they said they do sponsor, but it depends if they havent used it up. while expecting email for CISO interview, na unfortunately email I recieve.

the second one the man just they praize me, they praize my experience and my educational background, at least he told me upfornt they dont sponsor at the moment, but thry will keep me on the list etc.

But las las we move, I have reduced applications I am exploring other routes.

Good luck with yours

That's a line that is used quite frequently as people with prior NHS experience (Bank, FTC or Perm contracts) are preferred. This is why I mentioned joining NHS banks / Vaccination Programs (sometimes the vaccination bank is different from the regular Trust Bank).
Outside of that, if you really do well and they can't find someone with NHS experience, they'll pick you.

This happened to someone recently. She interviewed for an Asst Service Manager role but she was told that she didn't get it due to lack of NHS experience and she had already given up.
She was contacted weeks later with the job offer (seems like their candidate bailed on them) and told that the offer was due to her Nigerian managerial experience. After waiting for them to complete their checks, she applied for her PSW to avoid being out of status since it was taking some time. She got her COS last week and withdrew her PSW application as a result. She'll be resuming as soon as she gets her decision on her work visa.

The NHS is pretty much a checklist process. If you meet all items on the checklist and the points add up, you're good. In situations where internal candidates are also applying, they may have the upper hand since they understand the position from the inside.
Also, having a an informal chat before interviews is strongly encouraged as it helps you make a fair assessment of the job before you attend your interview.
Always request for interview feedback to enable you know what you could have done better.
