America is messed up because of the Savage people who runs it. America has laws against anyone physically punishing a child including it's parents. These laws were put into place because of the overkill beating children were receiving by abusive parents (much like your Nigerian parents).

My argument is against the extreme beating of any child including by their parents but I do believe that parents should be able to punish their child wisely.

Let me tell you a real life scenario which I know you might have seen. In the morning when I take a jog, this high school be vaping and smoking while waiting for school bus, but what can the society do? Absolutely nothing, cos strangers don’t beat kids, even when they absolutely wrong!

Yeah. Beaten for being stubborn and doing wrong things. We were just being kids and sometimes moving with the wrong crowd. The beating & scolding did not make sense then, but I now appreciate some of the reseting I got then. It was necessary to make me the man I am today. It might not work for everybody but it did for me.

We had one economics teacher in the li ate 90's as well. Na so so life advice she go dey give us during class. Then assign a student to write notes on the board for us to copy. She did not know and could not teach the subject. Students liked her cause it was a feel good class but i did not.
