Yes, schooling in the US is expensive. Reason why we look out for any form of Assistantship to foot the bill. So you can take extra steps by talking to the graduate coordinator of the school about funding requirements.

Best of luck

Good morning all, may God bless the originator of this thread.
Has anyone used SpanTran. Tec for transcript evaluation? What's your experience like? Thanks

Hmmm how is the brother doing? And did he entered as a student too? Making sure everything about the brother is legal is necessary. She can change her sponsor. I've had friends who changed sponsor if you think that's the issue but I'm sure that's not the only issue. How much is the cost of attendance and for what program? Was she asked why her brother will sponsor her and what does the brother do? how long has he been in the US?
If you can provide a well detailed transcript of how her interview went it will be good.

Best of luck
Please have you seen someone that used a US relative as sponsor and was approved?
because am married and am using my sister in US, but I was planning to change sponsor because I defer from spring to fall session

What if the person filled her sponsor is from the same location in the US where she wants to school but has not done the interview yet, because she defer her admission to fall, can she use another sponsor from Nigeria for the new I-20 she is requesting for and fill a new ds-160 form and update it before the interview date?
Since the old ds-160 form has expired
Will they still know

You can always update your DS-160 Form at least 3 days before your interview date, as long as the Form is not up to 30 days. You can also fill out and submit a new DS-160 Form and update your CGI profile. And for the I-20, yes you can ask the school to update your status if there's any change in status, like your sponsor.

What of if the person applying is married here in Nigeria will it still be a red flag?

If the applicant is married, it's a plus. But there are still other factors to consider. How did the relative who's in US get there. It may not be favourable if the relative got there via nonimmigrant visa and remained there. Remember, they may also want to know what the applicant's husband is doing in Nigeria. Does she have funding from the school? All these and more will count

Since it’s for summer I guess you still have time to go through with it no need to defer. My opinion though

Yes. A friend that resumed at GSU this Spring used his uncle that's in the US as a sponsor. The thing is, regardless of who you want to use as a sponsor be sure the person is clean if he/she is in another country especially US. You should be able to prove he/she is genuine. Why will he/she sponsor you? How much is the fee?? Nature of job? How long has he/she been there??
Best of luck

Good day

I've been following this thread for awhile and been learning really good sincerely.

I have a few questions as I'd like to make steps on my f1 journey to fall 2022.

1. I'd like to use mpower for my sponsor for now since my plan A is till on one leg. Please is it possible to switch sponsorship from mpower to plan A when I get there? In summary can mpower be cancelled?

2. In case plan A still screw me up eventually, can I transfer mpower sponsorship to another school because I might want to change course/school on getting there.

3. Can anyone help with a SOP sample? I can dm you if you can signify

Thanks

There really isn’t nothing as this.

Do apply for an Expedited Appointment (EA) yourself.

In my case, I did apply to Lagos and it was declined. I then switched to Abuja and I got approved.

Thanks for the feedback.

I am grateful.

Did you submit GRE scores?
cuttingedge:

I just applied on their website and wrote a compelling statement of purpose I believe...though I think admission for fall semester is closed...I think you might want to apply for spring 2023 if you're applying to the same university. Or better still try other universities, like Northern Illinois University or Western Illinois University. Just do your research some still have their admission open.

Good luck
