As soon as the baby is born, a birth certificate is issued and you can apply for their social security number right away while still in the hospital.

In some cases, They’ll even come to you to reduce your stress of carrying the new born baby around for all those registration stuff. Fill out all the forms and hand them over the representative and after a few weeks you’ll get their social security letter in the mail.

For the passport all you really need is the baby’s birth certificate.
