Ok I just found this thread. Please I need assistance.

I have an Infiniti G35 bought new in 2008. I used it for a while in Nigeria before sending it to my village to serve as hometown run around.

I think the car requires special maintenance compared to other products I have owned. It could also be ignorant or dubious mechanic contribution over the years grin

The problem here is that I left the car parked (under a shade) for about 5/6 years. Now the display is blacked out, the dashboard badly cracked and discoloured, and the vehicle wouldn't start despite the push button staying on "ON". There's this key icon constantly showing on the dash which I hadn't really noticed when I was using it frequently - or I didn't pay attention. The wiring systems and kick have been checked ok. No rats interference.

Secondly, what tire wheel size can I use to raise the height. It has always been low and a headache for me.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

The key fob is not communicating with the BCM - this is indicated by the intelligent key warning light on the left. I suspect that the keyfob will need to be reprogrammed.

Insert the keyfob into the slot by the driver side and see if the light goes off. If it does, the car will likely start (be sure to replace the keyfob battery). If the light remains on, look for a competent technician to scan for BCM error codes.

ok thanks. any remedy for the blank nav screen?
and what tire size can raise the car without problems? it runs a 225/50R17 and 225/55R17, the normal factory size.

Just avoid bad roads and don’t do anything to raise the car or you’ll loose handling and definitely speed (indirectly).

the car can at least crank now.
I put the key fob in the compartment for it but no effect at first.
however, I removed the battery so it doesn't run down but forgot to remove the key fob where I put it earlier.
when I put the battery the next day so I can only roll down the windows, I noticed the key light has disappeared and the engine can crank.

I have a short vid but it's not uploading here. the crank tone is very even and sounds quite normal but it doesn't start. is there any abnormal lights on the dash?
do you know any competent Nissan mechanic on this thread?

Have someone highly experienced in Nissan and infiniti drain out old fuel, and oil, and get a fresh supply of fuel, and oil, get injectors serviced and also replace spark plugs, check the air intake too.

ok sir thank you. finding someone experienced with Nissan is the thing.
I think Nissan has a workshop somewhere in mainland Lagos. I'll have someone look around for me.

Just search for Gazzuzz here. He’s on the mainland.

He’s your best option to restore your car back to life.

I was able to spare some time to open it up.
found some loose wire on the left guage, chipped nose on the right guage and both had dirt clouding the receptors.
I reconnected the wire and cleaned the receptors.
when I was trying to bring out the right guage, the nose completely broke anyway. I'd need a new one there.

I have made plans to take it to Lagos within the week. I'll see how it goes after a diagnostic scan.
Thanks @all

What auto trans are you throwing in? I only know of the 6-speed manual swap. This looks like a white elephant project.

Nah, they say it's from Altima don't know the name of the particular gearbox. Most Muranos are converted too.

Good morning.

I have a 2004 Infiniti Fx35 and I don’t like how my current key fob looks. Please is it possible to upgrade the key fob from A to B (please see pictures attached). Possibly get a spare that looks like B and have it programmed to work on my FX?
