Hence Iwobi came in.

Awoniyi looked bad today because our wingers went to sleep.

It was too late. He ought to have made changes in the first half or before second half commenced.

They were all bad today save Aina, Ndidi, Zaidu and Olayinka who brought another dimension to the game.

This is why I trust you with football analysis.

See, you are correct. We had chances, and most importantly, we did not play like we were a man down even when we were. There was no difference in play.

Thank you for making that observation

I actually felt for the guys today. The fought. Most especially Sadiq. I just get happy when I see guys playing with heart. That red card was so unfair but kudos to them for picking themselves and fight.

The coaching crew needs to address the midfield gap. It is a sound philosophy but we need to keep building from here. I hope Pinnick promotes continuity this time.

I am not comfortable with Aribo and Ndidi pushing so high. I like especially the defensive midfielder sitting. Or, you provide cover with the full-backs. However, I do think full-backs tucking is a bit complex.

What we need from Ndidi is to shield the defense and build his long ball play. Aribo and others can battle the box-to-box role.

However we look at it, we missed our chances, so I can not put too much blame on our tactics.

This was the major problem we had.

Why did Onyeka not have more gametime? Our midfield was clearly overrun.

Aribo was almost playing as a defensive midfielder today. Someone that plays as a winger sometimes for his club.

Irrespective of the result I think we should keep Eguavoen. He looks like someone that can learn from mistakes and the football was good despite the costly mistakes we made here and there.

Exactly!

Tunisia played close and compact and their players were always within a short passing range to each other. This ensured they beat us to all the second balls and won the midfield battle.

They also neutralized the Simon Moses attacking route by double teaming him at all times. Same for Chukwueze.

This was obvious from the first half and what Eguavoen ought to have done was sub in Onyeka for Iheanacho to shore up the midfield.

His failure to do this bottled the match.

It is painful 2013 scenario played out against us.
It is very hard when you know you will get beaten before the match even started .

Luck was just against us. A lot of activities get us distracted.

We see in Match.

Sometimes it is very good to be conservative

And it is very painful that coach Austin didn't learn anything from his previous encounter with Tunisia team.

What a painful exit.

It is what it is. We meant to be dropped out!

We needed another ball carrier in Ejuke to put enough pressure on the Tunisian defense from the other wing since chukz was once again not performing. But Cerezo left him out of the squad. I wonder what prompted him to do that. I'm surprised
Sir,Ejuke right, nothing to say cos Sadiq that was nailed prior to Tunisia match but today he was highly impressived....Ejuke performance today would have been 50/50.

Oga forgiveness, there is no need to argue, some of us have pass this level....truly Awoniyi had a very poor game inclusive Iheanacho but how will you be arguing with someone that said Ebuehi would have done better than Aina...Aina who was the best in that defense.

Good that we lost than to lose to Ghana...time to pray for injuries free for Victor Osimehn,Leon Balogun,Odion Ighalo,Onuachu,Dennis and possibly Lookman....I think time is too short to get a keeper against Ghana but I want Uzoho in goal.
That game was not lost based on lack of personnel but tactics. Same way we beat Egypt, is the same way Tunisia beat us. In fact from the onset Tunisia had no mind to attack us. They were ready to see the match through to penalties and trusted that if they score, they would frustrate us. The plan worked.

In the first half they had opportunity to counter attack, they just slowed down.

I felt for Iwobi because he came in with so much drive and energy. His presence would have given us the edge we needed. Unfortunately, we can not rewind time.

What was wrong with the ref when he obstructed our ball and waved play on? That was too shocking.

Well proud of the whole team. They gave their all and that is what we could ask for.

I blame Femi Otedola and his $250,000 promise

I blame Godwin Emefiele that flew down to Cameroon to announce that gift

I blame Badluck Buhari the most for sending that rubbish video that nobody asked for

Whose silly idea was it for that man to send a video? You no go wait till una reach semis at least, before you begin dey send goodwill video?

I blame Pinnick too.

Luck was not on our side, and it makes sense when you are surrounded by Badluck merchants
