Hello everyone.

Please I have a few questions.

1. Can a student under the age of 18 study in a university in Canada?
2. If so which schools take in minors?

I have been searching online and coming up short with responses. I learnt it is possible to do so (but the student will have a guardian who is a citizen or PR), plus I know of some students who are below 18 studying in Canada, but I do not see such information online. Any pointers would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Please I have an urgent question to ask concerning my sister's traveling to Canada for her studies. she has gotten her visa, also booked her flight for departure this week.

The question now is, her school is to resume by April/May this year 2022, she had written her Canadian school severally for them to adjust her resumption date to January or February but didn't get any reply from them. She got a Canadian visa last year 2021 December.

Now, can anything affect the flight ticket she purchased for traveling knowing fully well that her school resumption time is April/May?

Please I need someone or persons with experience to clarify me on this situation, to avoid issues.

If you are below the age of 18, you seen as a minor and therefore you are expected to include a consent form from a guardian resident in canada. if you are 18years and above, you can apply as an adult.

1) Yes
2) All schools, i know some one i assisted last year with his SOP. he is 17yrs, got into st clair college and visa was approved.

Has she checked if admission for her course is still OPEN for such months.
She cannot change her resumption date to january or feburary cos the admission for those sessions (if there is any) has already closed. That is why the school is not replying her.

TELL HER TO CALM DOWN AND RELAX, She has waited for visa for 2-3months at least, why cant she wait till March before she travels. Mind you, she cant leave now cos she will be asked why is she coming now when her classes resumes in May.

Okay Bro Thanks I appreciate your input. I heard some people talking about mpower financing. Do you know anything about that?

Pay part or deposit..

They need to see you have paid something. Student loan might not be convincing enough.

Go to Mpower financing site and input your details to see if you're qualified for the loan.

But it's only few universities in Canada that participate in it, you have to hold an unconditional offer from the participating universities, no Canadian colleges in the list.

Which school are you going?

Ok.
Thanks for the explanations in details, I appreciate it. Again, since she is having her visa passport, will they request for her studies papers before boarding her in Nigeria and at the point if arrival? Meanwhile, she is using connecting flight from Nigeria to Adis Ababa then connect enrout to Toronto.

TO REPLY THIS I WILL NEED YOU TO SEARCH FOR "LANDING GIST" on this thread. All the answers concerning documents that will be required both in Nigeria, in canada even the meals served are all there. Also possible questions the Officer at the Port of Entry will ask her.

Good evening house.

Please I have some queries:

1. I don't have an original birth certificate. What can use in place of this for my study permit application?
2. In my previous passport, the DOB there was wrong and I used it like that to travel to 2 countries (each spending over a year). Last year, I had it corrected. How do I explain this in my SOP or LOE and what impact can I envisage?

Thank you all in advance of your support.

Proposed program is higher than previous program and relevant to current employment. Applicant has full scholarship from a Canadian institution or a sponsor that is related to applicant and can afford the cost of program. Applicant have a good paying job in Nigeria that is relevant to last and proposed degree. These are just my personal opinions.

Okay thank you for explaining

There is nothing to explain.

None of the two countries is Canada.

Therefore make sure you get an age declaration and an affidavit of age. Both must have the same DOB on your international passport

Please I need an advice or a guide step .. I Have a bsc in sociology with a 2.2 and I wanna go for my master in Human Resources Management is it advisable ? And which country is advisable to run the programme between Uk or Canada … ? Please I need to be enlightened
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Nobody: 5:54am On Jan 25, 2022
1. Yes they do
2. Haven't seen any schools that had age restriction for students from 16 and above. You don't need a consent form as long as you're above 16. 16 years and below needs the consent form.

@Amon123.

Would this 17 or 18years old be able to apply for a permanent Residency after completion of his or her college study or would be required to do a B.sc program to accumulate more points ?
I am just wondering how he or she would pursue a permanent Residency with only the college degree.
