Good day, Ma. I'm currently applying for PGCE secondary biology. To submit, I found out I have to pay application fee. I want to confirm if I'm applying the correct way, because I haven't come across application fee in the postgraduate application I've come across for UK universities.

Also, if correct, is there a way to pay the fee from Nigeria? My access atm is being declined on the site

Depending on when you apply, it could be £1 or more. I paid £1 for mine.

I no even care who get am, na weda them go help person build score. Cos I used Monzo and revolut for so many things that I believe would have helped build score, but I didn’t care then cos this other bank won’t give half of the flexibility and understanding both Monzo and revolut offered.

But now wey person don settle na to do the right things for other benefit, so na why I de ask.

Monzo doesn't count ?

Use paypal to pay pay someone in pounds while paypal converts. Its the best deal.
abubarakat:
Stop applying for a while. Everytime you make an application, most of the vendors perform a hard credit search on your credit history. This leaves a mark on your credit file. Multiple applications in quick succession will make you look desperate and potentially in a bad financial state.

If you haven't lived in the UK for long or have credit facilities with a few vendors, your best bet is to apply for credit building cards. When I first arrived in 2017, capital one credit building card was my first card with £250 limit. Immediately It arrived, I started using it for everyday shopping and paid everything in full a few days later. I did this for a few months and got my limit raised to £1,200. A few years later, I now have a credit limit of £12,000 for one of my cards.

Also, you should be using vendors with soft credit check facilities. This gives you a success/rejection probability of your application, if you were to make one.

You should also open an account with ClearScore. Their app gives you an indication of vendors that have you pre-apporved for their cards.

Note to thyself, use your credit card wisely. It is not free money.

Because they operate virtual network business model unlike the likes of EE, Tmobile, O2, 3

But they piggyback of EE, O2 & vodaphone networks .......

The clincher I feel is contract vs PAYG..........

Once you get to UK get a Monzo account or any bank account that bears your name and go to travelfx.co.uk register to sell your currency and they will give you a postcode to send your currency once they receive it they credit your uk account with the pounds equivalent.
I used this and it is the best rate you can get.

This is good! Thank you

Bank of Scotland is part of the Lloyd's banking group, which also owns Halifax. They are a good bank. We use BOS for business banking and also have kids savings accounts with Halifax.

The UK government owns the now called (natwest banking group), used to be RBS banking group till about a year ago. Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) is different from Bank of Scotland. (BOS). I also bank personally with RBS.

That said, they both mint Scottish pound sterling as well as Clydesdale bank.

Thanks. I went to one of BOS branch and they gave me appointment to come on a day for the account opening and I can discuss anything then. Thanks.

I no go lie, I no know ooo. I just wan stick to these banks wey de call themself high street and all and all. But I FEEL like if they were so high, they won’t accommodate so many things. Maybe they are not as high as others even tho they are all banks. I just think that way, I may be very wrong.

Good day comrade.

Please I sincerely need your candid advice.

I am a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist.

I intend going for further studies in the UK. I got admission to study MSc Biomedical Science in Nottingham Trent Uni. Also, got another MSc to study Medical Bioscience in Glasgow Caledonian Uni. I'm still awaiting decision for offer in Molecular Microbiology from Sheffield Hallam Uni and Biomedical Science in Hull.

Here in Nigeria, I work as a Molecular Scientist. Which of these offers should I pursue?

One, as one who has already gotten HCPC.
Two a Molecular Scientist
Three, a "Nigerian" who would sure need to survive. I just want to top up my learning with a MSc as I graduated since 2013.

I'm not keen about doing routine lab practices in Haem, biochemistry, micro etc

@omopapa and others, kindly assist.

This was the attached steps towards it

For the lady in question she can try to change a smaller amount of money to see if it works and then if it works then she can do the rest.

I was also skeptical about it too when I arrived and I did the same thing too by changing small amount of money to confirm if they were genuine before parting with a larger sum when they were genuine to me.

When I told my DH about this, he didn’t agree. For the sake of peace of mind, I think we will just go through the physical exchange. I am skeptical because 419 Dey everywhere. Thank you oyasub11 for the suggestion.

Drivers license as it seems most of the companies prefer someone that drives

Baba which license would you advice. Do I go for manual or automatic? I just passed the theory test and I wanna start taking driving lessons.

Back in naija I started driving with manual, but in the last 8 years all my cars have been automatic.

I have no issues driving anyone but I just need suggestions.

All about demographics and perception.
The challenger banks are more popular with the younger/savvy generation, while the elderly generation, the ones who like to write long letters and carry passbooks and so forth, have no interest in banking by app without a branch manager to go and rake at from time to time. However, the challenger banks don't offer credit facilities (they may start to do so at some point, Starling Bank just bought up a mortgage provider and Chase says it has plans to offer full banking services), so it does make sense to open accounts with one or more established banks with an eye to the future.

For the rest, they're all the same, your money is as safe in Monzo as it is in Barclays, all banks have the same 85k deposit insurance guarantee, and with the rate at which the high street banks are closing branches these days, they might end up as digital as Starling or Monzo one day.

Its possible only through special delivery which cost a lot more, though i rather use bank transfer or physical delivery

Manual.
With a manual license you can drive both auto and manual, while with an auto license you are limited to just autos, even though as EVs come on stream that's not as limiting as it once was.
Regarding work purposes, fleet cars usually tend to be manuals.
