There's a link in the body of the email. If you have been issued a US visa before and you qualify for the interview waiver and you have appointment between February and October 2022 , then you can apply to drop off your documents at the Consulate.

Do you have an idea if this applies to Abuja appointments as well? Or is it only for Lagos?

Only FI/F2 visa holders are eligible for Abuja Interview waiver. This move will ease and free appointment date and time. My interview is in July 2022. Will cancel and reschedule a drop box instead in due time.

You will only cancel if you qualify for interview waver. Pls read carefully

I sincerely hope this isn't the case as some Lagos folks were forced to choose the Abuja appointments when there weren't available dates in Lagos.

Currently, Abuja appointments are back-logged into 2023. So hopefully, they announce IW for Abuja as well very soon since it covers both B & F categories of visa.

yes, that will be the right thing to do. I suspect a glitch as i just experienced the same thing.

Just want to double check with those that cancelled previous date or about to cancel for the interview waiver, the instruction is for those renewing and has never been refused.

Make sure you check eligibility before you cancel your existing date.

same here sir, same here. thats why i came here to see what others are doing. I will not be cancelling my appointment.

Please people, also note IW is for those whose appointment is between February and October 2022, because I saw someone mention their 2024 appointment (even though I believe there are now 2023 dates you can reschedule to)

Read the list very well. Because after cancelling they will still ask you qualification questions before you can schedule interview waiver.

Me for instance stayed over 6mths during the pandemic/airspace closure even though I alerted the embassy and also applied for i539 (visa extension) months before. I left the US 2 weeks after my i94 expired. So did I overstay or not? I don't even know. But I'd rather explain at an interview than cancel my appointment and let it affect me.

Cancel ke? Please don't o. It's for those who have scheduled appointment from February to October, if they qualify. I believe with time they will open up. Remember they started with January 18 to January 25. I think that was a test -run of the system again.

Stick to your Initial Date 5th April.
Cancel at owner's risk. Someone somewhere is waiting to grab that date.

The interview waiver isn't for everyone.

I believe the opportunity is open to even those who don't have appointments as long as they meet the criteria of same visa class and expiry within the last 24 months or within the next 3 months of their intended appointment. Please check out the website. Look at the file and photo I attached.
