You have no clue, travel first before forming a better opinion better than the one you have now based on hearsay. I will not be arguing with you if Nigeria or abroad is better because Ukraine and Malaysia is also abroad so go ahead and do you.
I have traveled based on both hustling and relax
I have been to over 16 countries counting
I have been to over 6 Continents
I know what I’m saying
Malaysia is better than Nigeria depending on your occupation in Malay.
Qatar is bad and same with UAE if you are not a professional.

I will never advise any young Nigerian not to travel, my main issue with many of them is their assuming that things are automatically better over there , just because there are shining lights. Life every where comes with its own challenges. They have their own kind of issues that you will have to deal with.

Our internal environment not the external is what ultimately determines whether we find happiness or not in this world.

Rather than run away from which I derive my identity and in which I am so invested; I would work towards having the kind of resources that allow me to go anywhere in the world whenever I want or need to and for as long as i need to, until I come back home.

The average Nigerian is not very bright and is seriously lacking in critical reasoning. This has nothing to do with race or country but rather mindset.
Nigerians have a bad culture. And when I mean culture I refer to life values. Everyone complains, throw insults around and not once do they ever take any responsibility for their actions or debate solutions. For example, you here the government is to blame but:

- Who elected the government?
- Who voted based on bigotry, religion and ethnicity?
- What's the nationality of the leaders of Nigeria?
- What's the nationality of the bandits, fraudsters, thieves, etc.?
- The person who steals from his or her employee, what nationality are they?

The bad image Nigeria has abroad is from the same Nigerians complaining about bad governance. What is their excuse for tarnishing their country's image in developed nations? Expect them to blame it on racism, spiritual hogwash etc. If every Nigerian leaves Nigeria there will be no Nigeria anymore.

Some say things like " If I clean and earn $10 usd an hour multiplied by 8 hours I earn $80 usd per day. I'm better off than a doctor in Nigeria". This individual doesn't consider the following:

- Accommodation costs
- Taxes
- Federal and state taxes
- Health insurance
- Road tax
- etc.
All he or she wants to do is just leave. So many locked up in prisons globally, others hiding everyday from Police due to illegal stay. Nigerians only think of themselves. This selfish attitude is why the country is in its current state. If all Nigerians can come together as a collective group, debate solutions and embrace nation building, things will change.

There's nothing wrong in traveling or wanting to emigrate. However, doing so without thinking critically or for the wrong reasons often end in sorrow.
The image below shows Nagasaki after WW2 and Nagasaki today:
Seriously, at some point, there has to be an end to the madness in the mindset of the average Nigerian.

£9 per hour is minimum amount you collect as a cleaner.

If you clock in normal 9 - 0

Thats £9 * 8hrs

£72 per day...

and you fail to mention taxes …. which wil take like £15 pounds from that £72 leaving you with a take home pay of £57 as take home pay. you don’t earn £££ in the UK and spend naira - you spend £££ and what N1,000 can buy for you in Nigeria is what £7 will buy for you in London - so, a man making N70k a month in Nigeria is living exactly like that man who makes £9 an hour in the UK - standard of living issues so stop hyping the pay

Don't confuse yourself.

The lizard will definitely be healthy, run faster and have all the platforms to be big in size like the crocodile if he enter western world in a legal way and follow steps to go up the progress ladder.

The lizard in Nigeria is just living a suicide live everyday because if boys didn't killed it, old men can kill it. If that didn't happen, cars can kill it while crossing the road. Even animal like eagle or other birds can kill it here in Nigeria.

Infact the lizard can die of hunger. Some people are even desperate to kill, fry and it the lizard with their alpine and call it Bush lizard.

Peace

No matter how big it is, sadly, it is still a lizard

you dont understand inflation will and devaluation will swallow whatever increase in value you might have gotten. If you make 100m in 5 years, inflation would reduce it to 50m. While someone in canada would still have his money intact.

This is a more realistic and practical way to look at it.

~£ 72 * 20 working days = £ 1440 per month

~Minus 30% on taxes = £1008
~Minus average monthly rent of £600= £ 408
~Minus monthly utility bills (gas and water) @ £50 = £358
~Minus food/housekeeping per month @ £ 150 = £208
~Minus phone bill @ £38 = £170
~Minus transport @ £30 = £140

~£140 divided by 20 working days = £7 per day for leisure, savings, or sending back to your people in naija, so that they can come and join the hustle.
but that person with £140 per month would live a far better life than someone with 200k naira per month and how many jobs pay up to 200k in nigeria/lagos?

Mr writer take time to reason and ask yourself critical questions. Are we really treated like a first class citizens in Nigeria? Is being treated like a third class citizens not better than being treated like a trash in Nigeria?

I fully understand the despair and all the challenges at home which is largely responsible for this ugly situation.

But why going through so much just to cross to another country, they will gather a lot of money, movement from one African country to another before embarking on the dangerous journey of uncertainty.

They will finally end up sleeping on the streets of European countries after getting there, some of them hawk and sweep to make ends meet, but back at home they won't do those things because of pride.

Why going to another country to become a third class citizen?

There's this wrong notion that as a graduate you must work inside one fine office with suit and tie, live a lavish lifestyle and try to impress men and women.
Nollywood movies and Nigerian politicians encourage this a lot.

We worship people that return from abroad, even if they do dirty jobs like drugs, all our people want to see when you return is beautiful car and house and they will worship you automatically.

Are Nigerians outside even enjoying? Because some bad ones have soiled our reputation badly, we don't have good image anywhere in the world, even within Africa, nobody trusts a Nigerian anymore, so why going through so much just to become an object of ridicule out there? They end up doing those menial jobs they won't do at home.

We look down on people that make legitimate ends meet in Nigeria through menial jobs but worship and glorify Yahoo boys and corrupt politicians! Something is indeed wrong with us.

No society can make headways with this kind of mindset and mentality our people have.

Let me tell u something u don't know. Even China that is trying to rub shoulders with the US some of their citizens will love to run away from China to come to the US, same thing with India that sees Dubai and London as the next heaven on earth.
Same thing with the Russians,Japanese, even Koreans they all want to japa from their own country to other more tolerant, sane and Law abiding countries where human rights are respected and not abused. The only country i know of in Africa where they love their country is the South Africans check it and see.
So my brother its not only in Nigeria we want better life its eveywhere, cos I believe if u had the chance to japa u will

Why is it that Ghanians in Ghana near us are not so keen on travelling abroad like Nigerians are?

Ghana was once worse than Nigeria to the point that they are fled their Country back in the 90's to live here in Nigeria until Nigeria sent them packing. Which brought about the "Ghana Must Go" Bag.

Now look at Ghana. Thanks to the Crazy Rawllins.

They went back to their Country and did the needful.

Only if Nigerians have the Courage to do the same.

Well we all did at Lekki Toll Gate on the 20th of October 2020 and they killed alot of innocent unarmed peaceful protesters.

That incident alone was what initited the whole Migration Movement.

They are ready to kill anyone that stands in their way.

Nnamdi Kanu (The Rawllins of Igboland) tried in his own way but the same bad leaders were after his life and are bent on silencing him.

So many of our Activist are all in Exile in other countries.

The Problem of Nigeria lives among us and they keep stealing our joy, peace, money, food, jobs but we wont allow them to steal our future.

That's why a host all leaving.

May God help me to also leave too.

I just need money for it becos migration is expensive but I believe in God.

It is well.

I rest my case.

People opt to leave because of life expectancy think about it the average youth is thinking of how to take from another struggling youth while politicians are saying your lazy at the same time. You could would hard and every avenue you make to increase your own revenue is shut down and accusations and fake social media campaigns made to malign you but in other countries your just another person you do your job you get paid. You don’t have to beg and your bills must be paid on time and your sure of the charges cause you can even track it. Nigeria has to think modern mechanics have to have tools. Our ports must be expanded for the decades we have grown and our transport system finally revisited as this is the heart of our cities not just exotic locations the whole country needs attention. Our villages our communities they make up Nigeria I don’t support bandits I’m not a terrorist I save lives and may even labeled a bandit for even daring to think of themselves first and stopping the greedy from taking their rightful inheritance.

People won’t leave when there’s a reason to stay

yes it would decrease relative to the economy. For example if you buy land 1m and sell it 10m in 5 years. You made 10million but due to inflation and devaluation what you actually made is 5 million. Thats why we need economic miracle. Now if you put 1 million in foreign currency in 5 years it would become 5.5 million. So you made more money than someone who bought land.

But that is not the point? The point is £140 is really not a lot of money any where in the world.

If you can raise money to Japa, or you can risk the high seas to run away from naija or if you are ready to wash toilets for just enough money to eat in the Uk, then why don’t you invest half of all that money, risk, energy and over optimism in where you are first?

Traveling to improve yourself is always good, but traveling to run away? Do you know where or what you are running to?

So why not use that problem as an opportunity? Why run away to another Man’s country? If their people ran away during their own evil days , do you think they would be where they are today?

From some perspective, a lot of the Japaing , especially to go and do menial jobs we would never dream of doing in Naija is a neo-slavery. A new form of slavery where the slave willingly enslaves His or Her self.

you dont understand. If ngozi okonjo wins president or akinwumi adesina or sanusi and some of our debts are written off, electricity is boosted, jobs are created, our universities are upgraded and most importantly fuel price is reduced. Why would anyone want to leave? Is when you are preping the same old dead woods to take over the country after buhari. Then people cannot continue to stay.
