Igbamatigbi Thanks for the reply, it's not the SIM that's the issue but the phone that I need, is it advisable to buy phone and spread payment or save and buy the phone. Thanks.

post=109985547:

Good evening, please I need advice.

I want to buy a new phone cos mine does not have space for more apps. Am in UK. I approached EE and was given an offer of credit and spread payment in 24 months with a increase in interest rate at a point.

Or do I save up and just buy or phone or go for it to build credit score?

Are they places I can buy phone and spread payment without subscribing to a mobile network because I have Vodafone and Giffgaff already.

Thanks

I understand but what I don't get is why don't like remove these occupied houses from the site? It could be annoying and frustrating. It is well

There is a place to filter out houses that have been rented out especially on Zoopla, openrent and rightmove. If you check the apartments, most carries "let agreed" once it's off-market.

They don't delete because of reactivation when tenants move out, I suppose.

You are right Aprokodaughter. They don’t tag those that have been taken as let agreed.

For JJC, Let agreed can be confused as Let’s agree (negotiate)
I remembered purposely including let agreed in my search with the hope I can negotiate the rent (Naija street sense grin grin wink but anytime I call the agent, I will be told the house is taken. I wasted many days pursuing such houses trying to save some quids.

Another annoying one is the rental agent not removing their board at the property after renting it out. Only for you to call making enquiry and get sorry, it’s gone response.

If it’s not that one doesn’t pay per minute call, the kind quarrel council go dey settle on the house matter for plenty angry angry angry

My people, Bank of Scotland doesn't seem to have specified dates for the statement. It's not showing months. For instance, if I want to download from Jan 8 till date.

Is Starling Bank acceptable to show Proof of Fund for health & care visa? Thank you.

It’s for marketing purpose, so that they keep getting calls to build their database of prospective clients and bombard you with cold calls, emails, messages or even sell you data to “have you ever had accident in the last year” guys

Since you use storage heater, which is usually for heating, do you have another boiler for hot water? I will assume no as most houses on only Electric use immersion heater. I would want to think the immersion heater is your main issue.

Immersion heater is like using a boiling ring to boil water in a big drum. Can you check If you have a very big drum with a power switch beside it? Then, that means you are using immersion heater.

Kindly let me know if that's what you are using then I can advise you on how to use it effectively.

Viruses:

Storage heater in the palour, barely used. Normal heater in the room, turns off when the room is quite warm. Can't wait for winter to be over.

If he's got storage heaters installed, he's definitely on electricity only.
As you said, he must be using an immersion heater, because that's the only option available in electric-only houses/flats. If the house is set up properly, he should be running his immersion heater/storage heaters on a cheaper tariff such as the so-called E7 whereby you pay less for off-peak electricity and do all the energy-guzzling activity during off-peak hours. The first thing the OP will have to do is to find out if there is any such off-peak tariff his supplier is offering him and if indeed he is on/has access to that tariff.

From my experience of using electric heating (not all houses are wired the same, but the principle is the same), there should be some sort of timer connected to the immersion heater which turns it off after about 2 hours or so (I think 2 hours is the period it generally takes to heat up a tank of water). Where that is the case, the timer switches the electricity on again when the water temperature falls below whatever temperature the boiler is set to, and reheats it, thus potentially eating up expensive peak time electricity.

Basically in such case, one solution is to simply switch off the immersion heater and turn it on again about 2 hours before you need hot water. Not easy to do, but given that the OP states he works from home and off-peak hours are not just in the middle of the night (in Aberdeen it was up to 7.30 am then, if I remember clearly), he can still get hot water and if the heater tank is well insulated, he should be able to manage as the water will stay hot throughout until night-time. I think mine used to last till the next morning.

Our flat then had two meters (I think that's an old setup that's phased out now) and all the heating (storage heaters, etc.) was wired to one meter, while the rest of the electrical power in the flat was wired to the other meter. The theory is that the white meter electricity is charged less than the rest of the electricity used in the flat to help save money on the heavy energy items.

You may consider getting those small heaters too for your room. What's your EPC rating?

With storage heaters, the OP should be on a variable tariff and where that's the case, the peak electricity is more expensive than normal.
