At that moment, I know say the scholarship don set. I later got the scholarship... But because of Coro dey block boarder....I nor fit honor the scholarship till date...but God know why. The lesson I learn na to take advantage of every setback. Goodluck OP. |

Supreme145:My brother thumbs up to you and congrats ahead. You did the very best anyone would do under the circumstances. Nigeria can frustrate the living day out of you if you're not built for occasional Bleep ups like these...suffice to say it is these kind of scenarios that actually lands you your dream job because the interviewer sees ingenuity and passion in you. All the best King |

Funny though, and yeah I can relate. One time I travelled to the village, there I recieved a mail for a virtual interview schedule with login details. To avoid any hiccup I decided to go back to the city very early the next day. Got to my place of work. Used the spare time to search for a better office setting with little or no noise. Finally got two different office spaces. 20minutes prior to the time, got my wireless ear bud ready logged on to BlueJean app, every seem perfectly working, then i logged out. Then the time came, I logged on again met this beautiful lady all smiles waiting for me, then I was like oh yeah today is gonna be a good day. She did the usual introduction, then when I thought things where going on well, Boom just like a planned deal customers started trooping into the office in two's and three's, talking to each other in such a loud voice, I tried to turn my laptop so she won't see them, but the more I tried the more these people kept coming close to me asking me loads of questions, the environment become heated and uncomfortable, I gestured to a couple of them to keep their voices down, but they weren't taking it. Then the lady noticed my frustration and offered to pause for 10-15 min so I can get a better environment. I thanked her and apologize, promising to come back online quick. I packed my stuff, left the office space for them. Little did I know that my problem has just started. I searched the remaining offices, they were filled to the brim with customers. Damn that was an unusual thing to happen on a Wednesday afternoon. Then the only option left to me was to use my directors office and hell yeah I have access to it. With my laptop, charger, mobile phone and Bluetooth in my hand I made way to my directors office, only to be greeted by an external auditor, lounging in the rocking chair and making a loud phone call with the thickest Yoruba accent. I murmured to myself "jesus, no no no not today not today". Then I moved straight to the stored room, shut the door and turn the key. Powered my lappy and got back online, this time the beautiful lady was gone, I don't know what happened, perhaps she had waited and lost patience. I was greeted by a man, this guy decided to turn off his camera so I could only hear him speak. Talking to a man is the last thing I needed in this situation, I almost immediately demanded to speak to the previous lady, but I kept my cool. So in the most professional way, he ran me through the interview process. I was sweating profusely because there was no fan or AC installed in the stored room. It was like hell. I kept wiping my face, and each wipe came with a smile, I tried to fake that everything was fine, but it wasn't. Worse case I can't see the interviewer's face so I can't figure what was going on in this head. So in the end, he asked if I had any question to ask, I said no and apologized again. He said okay and gave me the usual line "we'll get back to you". Dear comrades its been over 3months, never heard from them. Have already moved on. Note: My advice, just get yourself checked into a hotel whenever you have a virtual interview or assessment to curb all this hiccups. |

Supreme145:Naija my country... ......A simple prayer commiting everything into God's hands would have been helpful though.....but it's not too late, that scenario could turn to your advantage just commit the job to God |

Bro your story is quite funny . I have been laughing all through. E be like say devil just remember you that day. I had a similar experience recently. I was suppose to have a zoom call for a Ruby on Rails position. The call was to finalise a few details about the role. The issue I had was with Internet connection. I use airtel's mifi. Just exactly the time for the call, my Internet connection went bad. OMG I was sweating profusely because the person I was suppose to have the call with keeps to time. Quickly, I had to subscribe for 1gb data on my mtn yet it was still unstable. Thankfully, we were just able to have the call with a few network glitches here and there. In the end I had to apologise for the inconveniences experienced. This just goes to show you what developers in Nigeria go through and it also speaks volume of our resilience and persistence to keep going irrespective of the challenges we encounter. Having a good solar system will help with power supply challenges. With regards to Internet connection, just subscribe to different networks. I hope you land the gig. Supreme145: |

Supreme145:I have been rolling on the floor reading your experience. I like the white lady, she shows a lot of understanding. But don't bank on it, some of them can DL be deceptive. Their okay may not be okay |
