A lot of ignorant folks here. Someone came to Abuja some time ago and saw his landlord in the streets begging for alms. Most of those beggars are landlords. It’s a big business and there is usually a chain of authority that coordinates them.

Beggars have plenty money, why do you think some do it for 30 years? These peeps have houses in their villages and their children go to good schools, don't be deceived, the dirty cloths they wear are their official dress code.

cars and houses from street begging. Then they should be properly drilled, it's impossible to achieve this with 50 naira and 100 naira intake.

I run a POS, and beggars come to me to deposit thousands of money, you should never be a beggar if you have such huge amount of money, it's extortion, something is not right, but a lot of you are eager to criticize anything people in government do just for the sake of criticism, your criticism is not even logical most times

The fact remains, there's no crime under the law that they have committed.

Most of these beggars are informants for kidnappers, that money is too huge

Beggars make money, I respected them the day I met over 4 in the banking hall. They came to make deposit of what they earned for the week. 500k isn't bad, she probably keep her savings with her

A beggar in a good location with high traffic and compassionate people will make over 2k comfortably. Assuming N500 is used for food, that comes to 45k monthly and over N540k in a year. So it is not surprising.
This doesn’t mean you should stop showing compassion.
This your analysis get as he be

Ofcourse she can have such money but zoom that picture and see the way the cash was arranged it shows something more she need to explain. It look very much like an erand cash given to her for someone to come and pick it up from her at a point and with the security challenges in the country hhmm...hard to trust anyone especially in this part of Nigeria.

I personally know a female beggar who has two nice corollas that are used for taxes, I know another who a male who has a successful bakery in his home state. But when u see them begging u would swear them no get even 1k....but in reality, thier networth might even twice that of some middle class civil servants....

Beggars make serious cash

What's the big deal and suspicion
about❓

Beggars in strategic locations make
over 2000 to 5000 daily. Some people
drop 50, some drop 100 and others
can drop 500 to 1k. And she saves for
months and years.

These beggars don't pay rent, TP or
operate bank account.

A man who has made hundreds of
millions from stealing government dollars
can decide to go and drop dollars as
alms.

You think that Hausas who are the
specialists in begging don't know what
they are doing❓ Some beggars even
have 4 wives.

This is an innocent woman and I hope
police won't Rob her.

stealing government

I laugh in spanish.
Let me clear you something you might not know.

On the surface, you would say that beggar is innocent.
Yes, because no one caught her with any incriminating item except for the huge money found on her.
However, this is the snag, are you aware that beggars sell the money they collect from people to their clients.
Dont be surprised that she sold less than 5ok she got from several people to a particular client.

In case you are not aware, politicians, business men/women etc who are into subtle rituals buy money from beggars from time to time.
They use this money for certain ritual purposes. Believe it or not, owo oniru owo oniyo (money from different people) is eventually used to gather the good fortunes from those who originally gave the beggar alms. This is more like what yahoo boys do when they throw money up for people to rush and pick them, do you think they do this out of a pure heart? LOL.

Shine your eyes.

You want to give alms? Why not give someone you know.
Help your friends, neighbours, family etc
But most of this beggars you see on the street? Their hands no clean.
Though, they might not know exactly what the buyers do with the money, but for me they are both guilty.

Peace.

There are beggars that has more money than this one.

Remember some beggars hardly spend money to buy food.

And of them gather money to build and buy houses.

Don't be a dunce.

Begging is commonly carried out in Nigeria.

It is not a crime for a beggar to have money and no quantity can be ascribed to being too much.

There's no Law that prevents her from holding even billions.

That doesn't not stop the agencies from INVESTIGATING her, but arrest should be out of the question.
