Oya make una continue with the queue on Monday and help us push the price to N15. cheesy grin

My Oga, at 15 i wont even leave d one that i have EXCEPT i see a very knocked down price of another asset i want to buy with the proceed.

because at 15 that is a yield of 10% (which is not that common in this market) then if you add the fact that going by the last 4 years history of the coy, the current dividend is sure to grow (lets say to N2 within the next 2 years) that would give a potential yield of 13.3% @15, hmmmmmmm how many other stocks could possibly yield that?/

Legendary Peter Lynch said

Dividend yield+ earning growth% divided by PE should give us a minimum of 1.5. Peter Lynch looks at 2 and above

United Capital dividend yield of 12.5 plus earning growth of let us say 25% divided by PE ratio of say 7.

Will give us far more than 2.

United Capital is a good buy at N15 and below

Ucap release a good results but we should lower our expectations on the price rise... much of it has been factor into d results, it will be turf task for the stock moving to N20 except the company gives us better than expecting Q1.

based on the result Fp in bedsheet stand at N18.

dividend hunters might push beyond sha but if i have it i will sell around the fp

to be review at Q1

You will sell at N18.

Those who sold at N9 because they have made a profit of 100% are still waiting for a pull back to N5.

If you must sell this wonderful business, sell 30% or below but I won't advise you to sell everything

I share your view that it is not likely to climb above N15 given the already factored in result.

There is a thread for mutual funds. If you must do mutual funds do it for money market funds, fixed income funds or balanced fund, more for diversification and financial planning.

Better to learn how to buy stocks yourself

There two ways to this:.
1. If you have a Broker , tell them to send you your CSCS statement.

2. Open an account with CSCS (you can't trade on the account), pay your subscription fees.
This will give you unlimited access to your CSCS statement.

But you must have a Broker to trade those shares.

It's important to keep in mind the main source of earning for UCAP as an investment firm. VOLATILE MARKET. The huge returns gained in 2021 which is blowing up its share price currently, is from investment made in 2020 capitulation due to COVID wahala, unforgettable March 2020. How often does this occur? So don't expect UCAP to continue at current momentum. When market volatility is absent, UCAP remains quiet, but after a market crash it bounces up strong due to humongous gains from the crash. The more severe the volatility, the greater it's gains. So operate UCAP as a function of market crash and volatility. My 2 cents...

It appears you sold all your United Capital shares at N9.

United Capital currently has a commercial papers in the market for N15 billion at 10%.

Whereas United Capital loans out these funds to salary earners at 2% per month or about 24% per annum.

The asset under management increased for the mutual funds, shareholders fund went up by 253

UCAP is not just a stockbroking firm. They do more than just buying and selling stocks
It's an investment bank.

Exactly.

Asset Management
Stockbroking
Investment Banking
Trustee
Financial advisory
Lending.

Currently planning to have a N100 billion Infrastructure bond.

Coupons from Infrastructure bonds are higher than that of FGN bond.

There are 2 infrastructure bonds the market prompted by Chapel Hill Denham and Stanbic IBTC Asset Management.

That of United Capital will be the third.

Less than 10% of the financial assets of United Capital are equities, so i wonder how the stockmarket contributed immensely to the performance of the company

I think I will go with yMcy56's advice. Maybe buy more after markdown

Nice approach! I am not sure if this trend still holds for UCAP, but I have noticed that the price action after announcement of FY report makes it difficult to buy for shorts or even for increasing one's position profitably. If one is unable to join the wagon before announcement, it is usually not worth it. And in the past, based on what I observed, it took some time after markdown before it's price went low to reasonable (for current shareholders) pre-announcement level.

NB: This is just an observation. I might re-invest my dividend in the same UCAP if I don't find another stock with potentials of growth like UCAP. Current price though undecided.

UCAP is such a painful stock to watch grow to N9 OVER, because you know you had all the time in the world to acquire massive volumes pre-COVID era, still undervalued it Q1-Q3 of 2021 and now you are CONVINCED you can never get it less than circa N9 again, now paying dividends higher than price levels of Pre-Covid era with even UPWARD price re-evaluation

it must be damn PAINFUL

i wont trust a lot of doom analysis right now ...because e dey pain grin
