UCAP is such a painful stock to watch grow to N9 OVER, because you know you had all the time in the world to acquire massive volumes pre-COVID era, still undervalued it Q1-Q3 of 2021 and now you are CONVINCED you can never get it less than circa N9 again, now paying dividends higher than price levels of Pre-Covid era with even UPWARD price re-evaluation

it must be damn PAINFUL

i wont trust a lot of doom analysis right now ...because e dey pain grin

If you have cscs online, go to pricelist history and United Capital.

One 31st March 2020 united capital was N2.20k

On 31st December 2020 United Capital was N4.71k.

If you are an investor you cant go wrong averaging down a wonderful business, that is growing its earnings and is underpriced using Peter Lynch's model of determining this

On the positive side, there are enough stocks with growth potentials to go round.

Will you buy when they are dirt cheap and begging for buyer.

It amazes me those who could not buy United Capital 15 months ago at less than N5, are now ready to buy the stock at N15.

If any stock will give you a dividend yield of 14% in 3 months time, get a loan at 22% per annum or less and buy. Your interest after being pro rated for 3 months will be less than 6%.

That was the case with United capital in february 2021, when it sold for around N5.00 and a dividend of 70k was to be paid in the next 4 weeks

Hmmm... good word for thoughts sir.

I can't wait to see the day Afriprud will wake up, so I can give this kind of narrative too. Till then, I will keep buying Afriprud with at least 30% of my UCAP dividends (as in previous years).

When the current ceo of United Capital was in APR, APR paid a bigger dividend.

Now that he is in United Capital, Ucap is now paying better than APR.

When he was in APR, he planned managing the registers of Staff cooperative societies in the private sector, also planned diversifying into real estate.

Registrar is a dead end business, you need a resourceful and an innovative CEO to turn around the fortunes of APR

Very informative - no growth without innovation.
APR seems very deep in this sleep after all. I always wondered why the growth of APR stopped all of a sudden. This is good to know.

You should know that equities alone is not the only way to benefit from volatile markets. Apart from Trustee, every other business you mentioned can benefit from volatile markets. Even the loans you collect from them and liquidate before maturity, where did you put it? Imagine the turn over benefits to UCAP from all such loan investment. When funds leave the market in a downturn, where does it go? Bonds, Mutual funds, and the fixed income space. They also profit. The way I see it most of their business will benefit from tupsy turvy market and their chart clearly shows strong performance after every crash. The more severe (like March 2020) the stronger their bounce.

emmanuelewumi:

Exactly.

Asset Management
Stockbroking
Investment Banking
Trustee
Financial advisory
Lending.

Currently planning to have a N100 billion Infrastructure bond.

Coupons from Infrastructure bonds are higher than that of FGN bond.

There are 2 infrastructure bonds the market prompted by Chapel Hill Denham and Stanbic IBTC Asset Management.

That of United Capital will be the third.

Less than 10% of the financial assets of United Capital are equities, so i wonder how the stockmarket contributed immensely to the performance of the company

There loans are all secured so will continue to perform.

Not possible for equities and bond market to be down at the same time, that is the essence of diversification

Wheather the market is down or not, they always make money from the fees collected on the funds managed by the Asset Management and Trustee

Stockbroking is the smallest among the businesses in the group.

How many public offers did they have in 2021?

Nigeria needs Investments, and United Capital will continue to make money by harnessing the investment opportunities in the country.

Watch out for when the Infrastructure Fund will come on board

Growth is faster in a small company.

UBA is a stalwart, United Capital is a fast grower.

Check out the growth of both UBA and United Capital between 2013 and 2021

I think where we differ is that I see interconnectivity in the financial space with the market as the fulcrum whereas you see disconnect. I respect your opinion though...

WATCH OUT FOR HEAVY DROP IN SHARE PRICE FOR UCAP NOT LONG FROM NOW

what will trigger this?Do you think they can't maintain the present revenue this year even if they don't increase it or grow it marginal . Do you not see them paying dividend even if is still 1.50 next year which is still okay

True. Except there is anything hidden we don't know because the holdco structure is costing them alot and for them to regain the status of the GTB we know there will be need to get back to the drawing board to restrategize and this will take some time.

Ucap release a good results but we should lower our expectations on the price rise... much of it has been factor into d results, it will be turf task for the stock moving to N20 except the company gives us better than expecting Q1.

based on the result Fp in bedsheet stand at N18.

dividend hunters might push beyond sha but if i have it i will sell around the fp

to be review at Q1

grin grin grin

You are very much correct. It rallies always only lasted for one day after announcement of dividend in the past I.e. 2020, 2019 and 2018. I don’t expect much deviation from this year
