are you not worse than a slave in your own fatherland. What value do you have in the present day Nigeria. To be honest, you have never seen or experienced human rights violations in this country by either the security operatives or fellow citizens.

Imagine asking me what value do I have in my country? So all these years you have spent in Nigeria, you are valueless and still currently valueless? Your mindset needs to be worked on seriously.

You are talking about human rights violations like it's not the same oyinbo land where black people are treated like poo by White/Asian people. What's a worse human right violation than somebody treating you differently because of the colour of your skin?

Or is it not in the same US where White cops/security operatives profile black men and kill them unjustly? Have you forgotten Black Lives Matter protests so soon?

One thing we should understand is most people don't just move away for Money alone.

Yes... having enough money to effect the move is very important but that's not the main reason for some.

Talk about security
Welfare
Societal Value
Health Care

I mean the list is just endless.

It's in this same Nigeria you can't move around comfortably with a laptop as a young person without being looked at with being a fraud or Yahoo guy.

For a young Nigerian...the focus should be on making enough money.

So let's say if you can generate a passive income of like N5m /month.

Note I said 'Passive' because it will take you years to generate that from active income.

And the good thing is to make money these days are not just down to one path anymore.

Especially if we're looking into Online opportunities.

Affiliate Marketing
Copywriting
Information Publishing
Amazon KDP

....and so on.

Just pick one...learn it...stay consistent with it and you can generate enough money to move out of Nigeria.

These are skills and Businesses that can even guarantee you jobs easier when moving to outside country

Anyone making a million naira and above resigning to relocate to some rubbish oyinbo country is a big fool, and most likely crying to sleep every night regretting his dumb decision. Doing it for your kids is nothing but an excuse for making a dumb decision and being a brainwashed coon, health care and security? lol don't make me laugh. You people don't have a clue what is really out there but you will found out the hard way.

iamkelvincent:
Hmmm, a lot of person's are saying it ain't money, you all forgetting money is security in a way, money is health even in a toxic environment, the truth is broke is the problem. When you have the money you can decide to travel out once in a while for vocational reasons or business. Your daddy's home is always your home. Do you think those countries you all dreaming to go to don't have citizens who also want to move out. If you are rich in Nigeria except someone has a bounty on your head or you are been threatened I see no reason y you want to relocate.

Both of you only considered the salary option. It's TRUE that above 1 million naira can make a normal life (Nigerian standard). But if you are into digital business and cash flow, you will move.

For example, you earned a salary in naira, and you invested in building houses so that you collect rents in naira, you invest in local businesses, you have no reason to move out. You are a local champ and you will be just ok. But if you are into digital businesses, you get contracts from abroad, you are paid digitally, no one will teach you. I am sure 99.9999% of GenZ wants to move. They know Nigeria is holding them down. Imagine what they go through before they can have Paypal. They have to open in another country, move it via different channels before they can withdraw it locally. They were enjoying crypto and all of a sudden govt banned it cos some people started using it to launder funds.

The world is going that way. So, the earlier the better you start preparing to move if you start doing what the world is doing.

Good luck!

Unless that person can secure a job that can pay him equivalent of that in a month...

He should focus on moving to a better and more safer side of Nigeria abeg.

Travel abroad is overrated. If you have something meaningful doing here please stay and enjoy your life, but if not you can move in search for greener pasture. Nothing wrong to travel to anywhere in the world to look for opportunities. Indians, Chinese, British, Americans etc are also here doing businesses.

Okay. I see lots of japa posts all over the Nigerian internet space.

Now, I'm wondering...

If you had the ability to earn whatever you wish, how much will you be earning here in Nigeria, that the thoughts of permanently relocating abroad becomes unlucrative?

I am not going anywea in respect of what I earn. I am a dreamer! I live in my dreams. Overseas countries are not good enough for me! I fear loneliness far more than kidnapping and bad roads. In fact, over there, you work off your ass. Work and work or die a pauper! Over there, no abete, no buka, no beer parlours, no life! You live indoors only with your family! No fresh girls to toast! If u near girls, u go straight to prison! I HAVE CHOSEN TO REMAIN IN MY SHITHOLE! I LOVE IT HERE! If you like, go to Canada, UK, USA, etc. All my friends from there are calling me, hailing me baba ooo. I give no damn! I live wea life is convenient for me! Nigeria!

Top investment bankers making an average of 1m /month, managers in oil companies earning $10000(5m)/month and top programmers earning $60,000/yr(30m) are choosing to leave, and you need to ask why?

1. Firstly, oil workers earning those crazy amounts live in estates with heavy guided security for fear of kidnappers which are long before bandits. So what's the essence of earning this huge amount and being enclosed.

2. Tech guys making that crazy amount are not believed these days as some go as far as stating it's yahoo and face abrupt harassment timely. So why shouldn't we leave?

3. The whole world is a system of immigration. Places like the USA, Canada are all linage traced to immigrant forms. So it's not a crime.

Of you choosing to remain in Nigeria, it's a choice. And if Japa is the goal, still go for it. Let's stop making it a big deal. Nobody owes anybody an explanation. History has shown us what patriotism means in this country.

After all, independence was a result of greed and power and not the true intent of independence. The civil war proved it, and the present-day nepotism.
This is exactly why I am definitely going to be leaving this country soon.

I make good money, at par with most oil workers if not even earning more but no peace of mind and I discover recently that food is far more expensive in Nigeria than it is in the UK.

I used to be called Mr Nigeria, but Nigeria has shown me.

You missed the question completely, i dont know why youre this angry, but i hope you find peace within.

I know an investment banker that returned back to Nigeria after moving to Canada within 2 years- he claimed they were underpaying him, plus life there is expensive when he tried to match the opulence he was enjoying here (driver, cars, nanny, subscription to clubs, low tax).... weird abi? lol

well, i know people- tech guys close to me- close family, that currently run remote work, they have been given the opportunity to move to the country that the job is and they refused- they're earning hard currency here, giving the shht exhange of naira, why will they bouge?

I also know a former colleague that was given a deadline to move to his company in Russia or risk losing the job, baba resign,

So these things as you said are opinionated, so just take am easy abeg.

As for me, moving is never abt the money o....its peace of mind, because I cant see police for junction in the middle of the night and my mind go dey caught like arm rubber lol
Your last line concluded in agreeing with me. I'm glad you justified my point.

They all have mobile policemen attached to them. They call it VIP protection.

As a matter of fact, everyone you see making relocation posts are into affiliate marketing,it's a nice job to learn and all you need is a smartphone and internet connection by selling digital products in the internet and earning commission.Afffiliate marketers can sell products with commissions of 50k and above that's why its hot cake at the moment

I earn about 200k (entrepreneur) per month and even though it's not enough and I'm still struggling, I've never wanted to leave the country even when I was poorer. I've never been convinced to.
I'll rather stay in my fatherland and rough it here

No amount of money I'm earning will make me stay back in Naija. I need to live in a sane economy for once in my life and securing the future of my kids in a sane economy is more important.

Make some savings and travel to a good country, not for relocation but vacation. When you return, I'm sure your resolve would be less soddened.

10m monthly, guaranteed, aint going anywhere.

Except for vacation/sight seeing.

I hate being treated less no matter what, provided I am comfortable enough to accommodate others, I will rather stay and develop my region, and hopefully the nation as a whole, I won't be happy seeing my motherland plunged into darkness.
