See who's talking. Focus on your Eastern Region. The North can never be compared to the East. We are better in all ramifications of life. Thats why your leaders always Prostrate to us. They are all over begging us to allow them become, Chairmen of their local Government, State House of Assembly members, House of Reps members, Senators or Governors.

The North is the King maker in the East. Whoever doesn't seek our support, will fail woefully no matter his popularity in the East. So, when talking to a Northerners, talk with respect. grin grin

Of course not. How can you compare the North with South-East? You have an unenviable record of being the Region that has produced 7 out of the last 9 leaders of Nigeria and yet have the highest illiteracy and poverty rate in the country.

Congratulations!

*Over 90% of Nigerian Oil Wells are owned by Northerners.

Over 60% of FG total budget goes to payment of Salaries of it's workers and since the North makes up over 90% of FG's work force. This simply implies that, over 9 Trillion from this year's budget will go into the pockets of Northerners.

The whole of Benin, the Oba of Benin, Akoko-Edo.
I know you would mention Akoko-Edo, and that is actually a huge falsehood. The Akoko tag in the name does not connote Yorubaness, rather it is only geographical in meaning which is "Edo people who are geographical neighbours to Akokos". There are really no Yorubas' indegenous to Akoko-Edo. The tribes in the area are Etuno, Okpameri, Uneme, Ososo, Okpe and others. None of their languages is mutually intelligible with Yoruba. For example, below are some native names of the people, and I would like you to tell me what they mean in Yoruba:
1. Eneze
2. Emmasealu
3. Onyonnude
4. Oyonorifo
5. Ogie
6. Enevara
7. Ajimego
8. Okondo
9. Ozioma
10. Asesho
11. Lawani
12. Ausere
13. Ubani
14. Eshemokhai
15. Uniami
16. Igbelazor
17. Pendo
18. Adeche
19. Utachi
20. Enachi

Note the presence of the sounds z, v, and ch which are all absent in Yoruba Language.

The only actually Yoruba people indegenous to Akoko-Edo are the Imeris who have since been carved into Ondo State to join their Yoruba kit and kin there. While they were in Akoko-Edo they used to complain about being among strangers hence kept on agitation for boundary readjustment to enable them be among their actual brothers in Ondo State. Their prayers were answered in 1996 when Abacha created Local Government Areas and moved them to Ose LGA in Ondo State.

As for Benin, you yourself know that Bini Language and Yorubas Language are not mutually intelligible at all and that Bini culture is poles apart from Yoruba culture.
In essence the only parts of the Midwest that Yoruba or Yoruboids are indegenous to are the Itsekiri and Olukumi areas of Delta State. These people's languages actually are a dialect of the Yoruba Language and they themselves don't deny it.

Unfortunately, you didn't address any of the posers I raised. There was a civil war in Nigeria in 1967 and what you said wasn't even close to happening. If not for Awolowo's wisdom and Ojukwu's own greed, Biafran soldiers would have even taken over Ore and marched down to Lagos.
On the other hand, Awolowo the most politically enlightened Yoruba man and in fact the most pragmatic and most intelligent Nigerian politician ever to walk on the earth did an ethnographic survey of Akoko-Edo and confessed that the people are not Yorubas in any way hence he never targeted them in his Yoruba irredentism struggles unlike how he targeted the Okuns and other Yorubas in the North Central Region of today.

During the civil war it was Yorubas soldiers that came to rescue you Benin from Biafra forces. Note you Benins were used by the North against Western Nigeria region. You broke away from Awolowo to align with Zik and Amadu bello. A Northern referendum was done and a Mid-west region formed and Awolowo jailed for treason. But during the war you were consumed by Biafra and you ran back to the West. It was the betrayal of Benin that led to the loss of oil of Western Nigeria to the North till this day. Yoruba know you, you are a foe not a brother but that doesn't change the fact the entire Land called Benin belongs to the Oba of Benin who is a Yorubaman from Ile ife.

1) This never happened, indeed the Nigerian forces which fought against the Biafrans in the Midwest were led by Edo officers namely Muritalla Mohamed and Ogbemudia. Their soldiers were representative of the entire Nigerian army, nothing about them was specifically yoruba. This only feeds the yoruba fantasy. You guys just keep making stories and rewriting history.

Jagunlabiodua:
the Oba of Benin who is a Yorubaman from Ile ife.

An other yoruba lie, the Oba of Benin has no relationship with Ife. In fact the Oba of Benin was written about as from the 1400's when he was witnessed ruling an empire, whereas Ife was a small village until 1912 when the British started developing it. All stories of migration from Ife are mythical, lies, political arrangement which we Edo do not adhere to.

Since your elders and history teachers have decided to not tell you the truth about your history and rather tell you nonesense about my people the Edo, I will help you gain some sense:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0f53aYJElw

Yoruba didn't originate from Ife, you originated from Brazil where most of your ancestors were slaves. You guys have been trying to attach yourselves to Benin since Benin lost a war to the British. It is a self-esteem thing, you hate your slave history so much that you are desperate to steal Benin history and claim that the Oba of Benin migrated from ife. Nobody migrated from Ife, not even those who claim their ancestors did.
Re: 2023: Igbo Presidential Aspirants Vow Not To Step Down by Nobody: 10:52pm On Feb 21, 2022
I am tired with yoruba delusion, these guys will walk up to you and debate your own history with you...in their mind they think they know you better than you know yourself. How a man in Ife would have the delusion to think he knows Benin history and tradition more than a man who lives in Benin city and has visited the palace of the Oba several times ?

Yoruba elders are really turning their people into fools.

Also, why is it that everytime a yoruba talks, he must tell two or three lies...you guys already have a reputation for telling lies, yet you just can't help yourself, it is in your nature.

Get this through your dead skulls, we are not yoruba !

We left the western region because you people are crazy, just like you are today. You just keep trying to yorubanize everybody, and you are extremely bigotted. You have no culture and worshipped the whites. It was not funny being in the same region with you, also the British favoured you because you were their boyboy.

And one last thing: it was the Oba of Benin who led the people of the Midwest out of the western region, he couldn't stand you people's madness anymore.

Now stop claiming us up and down ! And go back to Brazil if you can.

So you woke up one morning and you knew me better than I know myself and my tradition and history ?
You are so deluded.
First of the Oba of Benin is in no way yoruba !!! Put that through your head !
Second of all oranmiyan is a fairytale !!!! He never existed !
Third of all, Benin Republic got its name from Benin Kingdom ! Where is Ife Republic ? Where is bight of Ife ? Where is Ife river ?

Your monarchs copied the title of the Oba of Benin and covered their copying by telling a stupid fairytale which you are just not smart enough to see as what it is !

You see, it is because of these types of delusions that yoruba and Edo can't be friends, that is why we couldn't even share a region, you guys are so naturally provocative and deluded.

Nobody migrated from Ife, if anything, people migrated into Ife which was a small village untill the British started developing it in 1912.

Jagunlabiodua:
During the civil war it was Yorubas soldiers that came to rescue you Benin from Biafra forces.

You obviously don't know anything about history. Biafra forces were chased out of the Midwest by the Northerners dominated Nigerian Army who were earlier on deployed to the Midwest by the trio of Tafawa Balewa, Nnamdi Azikiwe and Akintola to wallop the Western Region and decapitate AG after imprisoning Awolowo. Haven't you ever heard that shortly before the war broke out Awolowo was impressing it upon Gowon to order Northern origin soldiers out of the Western Region?

Jagunlabiodua:
Note you Benins were used by the North against Western Nigeria region. You broke away from Awolowo to align with Zik and Amadu bello. A Northern referendum was done and a Mid-west region formed and Awolowo jailed for treason.
You are speaking like an ignoramus. Not every Edo State person is from Benin and Benin is not synonymous with the entire Edo State. Get yourself educated about this and stop the self embarrassment. Awolowo was jailed for treason by the collusion of your own brothers Akintola and Faani Power with Ahmadu Bello, Azikiwe and Tafawa Balewa. No Edo State person had a hand in it. In fact Anthony Enahoro, an Edo man, was jailed alongside with Awolowo due to his solidarity with Awo, so stop talking thrash. All that you Yorubas suffered in the hands of Zik was due to your own decision to hobnob with Igbos' by way of allowing them get into political positions in your own region thinking you were fostering unity in the South. You were warned but you never listened. A Yoruba man, Herbert Macaulay, founded NCNC and handed it over to Azikiwe an Igbo man,' thinking he was cementing Southern unity only for Azikiwe and Igbos' to hijack it completely for themselves, use it to form alliance with the NPC of Hausafulanis and started using the alliance to fight against you Yorubas. How was that the fault of Edo people? In fact when Awolowo was to proceed to the center, his personal choice was to hand over the AG to Enahoro, an Edo man who had been very loyal to him, but Afenifere refused and mounted pressure on Awolowo to hand it over to Akintola who was already showing signs of disloyalty to the party and Western Region interest in general. Enahoro and Edo people calmly accepted that wrong decision by Afenifere and Enahoro continued to be loyal to the party despite that glaring injustice. Even when Akintola later commenced his madness and treachery in full force, Enahoro didn't come out to start mocking Afenifere, rather he continued to battle for the salvation of the party to the extent of being jailed alongside with Awolowo. Wasn't it the Mbadiwe and other Igbos' whom you all voted into the Western Region Assembly through the NCNC that ended up disrupting every attempt to impeach Akintola when Akintola became a threat to Yoruba interest? Was Mbadiwe an Edo person? Have you people learnt any lessons from that? Didn't you still vote Igbo men and women into Lagos House of Assembly recently despite how much Igbos' hate you Yorubas and always work for your downfall? Have you Yorubas ever voted an Edo person into Lagos House of Assembly? Tinubu has appointed a lot of Igbos'as cabinet members in Lagos yet Igbos' insult him and hate him but reasonable Edos who are in the majority have never insulted him or the entire Yoruba race despite Tinubu, Fashola, Ambode and even Sanwolu never appointed an Edo man a commissioner in gratitude for Enahoro's standing by Awolowo through thick and thin. So what exactly are you saying? If Edo people broke away from Awolowo to align with Azikiwe and Ahmadu Bello as you claim, then how come Enahoro the foremost Edo political leader of those times was jailed alongside with Awolowo? You must be a kid. Enahoro actually resigned as Editor of Zik's newspaper, The Pilot, and also resigned his membership of Zik's NCNC to join Awolowo's Action Group when Zik betrayed him in 1948 over an anti-colonialism symposium. Go and study history deeply and stop listening to beer parlour gists. The agitation for the creation of Midwest Region predated the Western Region crisis and was championed by Akenzua beginning from far before independence hence it didn't really have much to do with the issue between Awolowo and Azikiwe with his Northern friends. Even Awolowo himself wasn't against the creation of Midwest, and as the foremost federalist in the entire Africa, he made it clear that the minorities must be allowed to have their own regions. His only grouse was with the hypocrisy of Zik and Ahmadu Bello who wanted the minorities of the West have their own region while resisting same for the Eastern and Northern minorities. Awolowo himself gave his consent right from prison for the creation of Midwest, so stop saying what you don't know.

Jagunlabiodua:

But during the war you were consumed by Biafra and you ran back to the West.It was the betrayal of Benin that led to the loss of oil of Western Nigeria to the North till this day.
Who and who in Edo ran back to the West during the war? You delude yourself. You lost parts of Yoruba land (i.e. the Okun and Illorin areas) to the North far before Nigeria ever came into existence. Even when Awolowo was trying to get those places back into the Western Region it was the Azikiwe whom Herbert Macaulay and other Yorubas gave prominence to in Yoruba land that played the spoiler role against Awolowo. I guess Azikiwe was an Edo man, right?
You people promoted Azikiwe among you and he later used the influence he got from it to fight and harm you to please Northerners and the British but you turn around and blame Edo?
What you don't know is that the Nigerian Army was mostly dominated by Hausafulanis, Igbos and Yorubas and Edo was helpless because they had less than 5 officers in it unlike the Wazobia tribes who had hundreds and thousands of their men in it due to quota system. If Edo people had had as much as any of the Wazobia tribes, do you think either side of the war would have ventured foot into the Midwest and left there alive?
Could any other tribe mess with Edo people in the pre-colonial era when each had its own sovereign army and kingdom?
Jagunlabiodua:

Yoruba know you, you are a foe not a brother but that doesn't change the fact the entire Land called Benin belongs to the Oba of Benin who is a Yorubaman from Ile ife.
Your enemies are the Igbos' whom you keep sacrificing for despite they hate you and call you all sorts of despicable names. Look around Nairaland and you'll see some Yoruba monickers supporting the threats of Igbos' that presidency must be their turn or else. Some would say for equity and fairness, it should go to the very East which threw equity and fairness to vote for the very Obasanjo whom they knew you Yoruboids didn't want hence just to spite you. They voted against your Abiola and colluded with Abacha to deny him inauguration but they turn around today to talk of equity and fairness and some of you Yorubas join them to chorus it as if you have forgotten what you passed through in their hands when Azikiwe was governor general and also when Ironsi was Military ruler. Igbos' have taken over Ojo, Ajeromi-Ifelodun and other LGAs in Lagos completely. They have been terming Lagos a non man's land since before independence and till now. They insult you with claims of developing Lagos and that you Yorubas sell your lands to them and later become their tenants yet you vote them into Lagos House of Assembly and appoint them as commissioners but you leave all that and start chasing after Edo State which is very far away from you and whose people don't call Lagos a no man's land despite they even have a historical stake in Lagos. You obviously don't know your real enemies and it is a pity.

During the parliamentary proceedings of the Old Western Region before the creation of Midwest, the Awujale who was the chief whip would begin by formally greeting the Ooni of Ife, Alafin of Oyo, Deji of Akure, and declare that he had saluted all the Yoruba monarchs and then proceed to sit down without saluting any of the monarch from the future Midwest areas. This means he didn't recognize any of them, be it Oba of Beninz Olu of Warri, Dein of Agbor, Otaru of Auchi, Onogie of Ekpoma, the Urhobo and Isoko Monarchs as Yorubas. To this, none of these unsaluted monarchs would object because they knew they weren't really Yorubas. I guess you now know more than Awujale himself who correctly didn't recognize them as Yorubas, right?

You are the people the North used to dominate Nigeria. Nigeria had 3 regions North Western and Eastern but it was only the West a referendum was held to Divide and Weaken it to stop it's accelerated progress, it was developing faster than France. The politics and betrayals, envy, jealousy of by Benins of Yorubas led to the creation of Mid-west and the Premier Jailed. Unfortunately the North took over the Mid-west oil and under developed it. Why did the minorities of the North not Divide? from Hausa Fulani? Why did the Minorities in the East not divide people like Ijaws and calabars? Today you deny you are not part of the West and you were never part of the East or North. Yorubas know your ancient history that's why Awolowo gave consent for the creation, You are a sub group of Yoruba outcast in history. Yoruba used Mystic power to colonize Benin up until today no body in Benin can mess with the Oba who the whole world know is a Yorubaman from ife. Even he himself admits to this that he is from ife.
Ghostwon6512:
Also, to the deluded yoruba whom I quoted.
We left the Midwest because you people are crazy, just like you are today. You just keep trying to yorubanize everybody, and you extremely bigotted.
