Can someone advise on this please?

oo360z:
Good day all,

Please I'd like to confirm two things:

1. Amidst the state of emergency in Ukraine, is the Embassy in Nigeria still issuing student visas?
2. If No to the first question, Please how can I go about passport retrieval?

One of the reasons I considered Ukraine for study was affordability while having competitive ranking in the world. But It seems part payment in the UK would have to do.

Thank you.

Some Nigerians have no shame or sense, Ukrainians are getting killed by Russia, thousands have crossed to Poland and many can't even leave the country AND a Nigerian wants to apply for visa to travel to Ukraine?

If you talk, u are an enemy. They keep acting like they don't read news or even understand what's going on. One was even saying last time that his online girlfriend's dad is top military personnel in ukraine, and the online girlfriend's dad was saying putin can not attack ukraine. I'm sure the online girlfriend is now in poland border. Or maybe the online girlfriend fit be one yahoo boy for ogun state, the whine him head.

Lol it was surprising to learn that some people are still making efforts to enter that country with the intense news going around, thats the highest show of stupidity I've ever seen.

Even before the recent happenings, ukraine had nothing to offer. Nothing pains me more, when you are telling this dull people something and they act like u are just an enemy of progress.

Congratulation sir. You will live long. God that saved you has a special plan for you. You just need to follow the protocols there.

I heard Poland said foreigners can't stay longer than 14 days there. Not quite sure if this is true. But if true, better contact your people at home and fly from Warsaw to Lagos or Abuja. That you came out of the place alive is worth praising God.

Sister Janet, pls pray your sister crosses first. She will cross in Jesus' name.

Please, prepare for the worst case. Let her fly from Warsaw back to Naija. Dont let her start going through stress. To be a refugee isnt a good thing. She can be raped or whatsoever. Your priority should be her safety. Naija is still good to live and be alive. Please do not let her face what is worse than the worst case any human should face. A beg!

God bless.

Very well, I've read it here about people who actually regretted it after they arrived there, a Nairalander actually made a post not too long ago on this travel section. Those pointers are enough to convince a normal human being to avoid that country.

You are heartless, rather than praying that your sister get home safe you are more concerned about studying in Poland. How desperate can people be?

Well, you cant really say Ukraine has nothing to offer. If you have your money, schools are cheap there. Same with Russia. You can get out of this Nigeria wahala via it. Schools are cheap, accommodations are cheap too. Face your studies and pass with flying colors. From there apply to the UK, US, or Canada for masters degree or phD. Even before you complete, you can go on holiday to UK, US, etc and return. Finish there and move. Many people have done it like that.

But when you take student visa and you escape into the air thinking you will work there. Then, you go collect am. No be school you talk say you wan go do there?

Why say it has nothing to offer? It has a lot to offer if you have your money and you plan it well.

It is a stepping stone to success. UK is too expensive. And its just recently the visa is easier to get cos they have regulated everything. In those days that UK visa was hard, that was a good means to first move out and then move to a better destination.

Do you know the number of students in Russia under FG scholarship? Do you even know there is a bilateral relationship like that?

Please just don't say what you dont know. Blame those ones who think they are smart than everyone. Are they not the same kind of people who destroyed our names everywhere? They would use fake documents and prevent those really qualified from getting visas. A beg, leave story. Let's judge things rightly.

You are the one that is heartless, do you have anything for her in Nigeria. Writing jamb for 3 years no admission, go back to Nigeria to do what. She is safe, we are always on call with her, I have not had good sleep or rest since Russia invaded. Also she does not want to go back to Nigeria for anything. Just don't want her to be illegal in any country, we have plans for her to move to a better place.

Bro I just want to collect my passport back. And I needed advice on this. Instead of trolling me why not offer me advise?

I'm worried about this that is why I'm asking for this information. I called VFS Global Ukraine customer care line as you can see in the screenshot but to no success in reaching them.

We should learn to be more supportive even in virtual space. To me that is the true essence of Nairaland.

If I was even in Abuja it would have been easier but I'm located in Port Harcourt. If I waste money flying down to Abuja only to find out that they are not even open for Visa Cancellation/Retrieval Services without even asking, I am the one at loss. And probably that is where you could have come in with advise.

my sister, I can understand the pain you are all going through. See, it is you who will talk to her. It is not easy for the girl also. I understand her very well too.

Now, try to talk to all family members to assure her of assisting her. Sister, let her go for UK visa. All she needs is 1 year tuition and living expenses. If you can assure her she will get the cash, no wahala. Cos if she stays, she will be disturbing you for money. And you will eventually spend more than 1 yr UK tuition fee. Her stubbornness will lead to what she doesnt expect also. She will definitely waste more money than she will spend to process UK and live there for a year. All of you will live in panic. You will just be sending money anyhow.

As soon as she crosses, just tell her to return home. God will lift her up again. But please, go to her family members and tell them its UK student visa she is going to start processing as soon as she arrives. She will get the visa. All she needs is to have the money and find a way to get some cash in the account for her. UK will give her visa from Lagos.

Visit the UK visa section here. You will see that all I am writin here is the best option for her. Let her not go waste money trying to pay anyone in Poland. From history, bad people will be there to take advantage of the refugees. It will definitely happen..let her return home. She is a refugee in Poland ooo. Get her out fast.

This is just nonsense, you need to be alive to even think about writing jamb. So wasting away or even dying in foreign land is better than returning to Nigeria? This is like saying you will never get vaccinated but still die of covid 19

Poland will priorities Ukrainians before foreigners who refused to go back to their countries weeks before the way starts.

let her leave the passport there my sister. Her life first. She will collect another passport in Naija. Even without her passport, she will find it extremely hard to continue her journey without coming home. Hmmm...pray she crosses ooo...cos without a passport...hmmm...I hope she has the temporary document given her by her school.

She may try the Nigerian embassy in Warsaw first as soon as she lands there. She needs her passport. If she doesnt have it, let her just return with the aircraft Nigeria will provide for them in Warsaw. This way, she will not pay for the flight back home. This is the time to be smart. Console her. Go to your family, get assurance, and then put her mind at rest. She will return home.

My application is already with them and its been there for two weeks. If the Cancellation process takes longer than the issuance process, what would have been the fastest way to get your passport sir? It was a very valid question in my opinion. Just because we see information differently does not mean my point of view is bland.

All this long epistle just to prove ukraine has something to offer. You and I knows that 99% of Nigerians leaving Nigeria to ukraine has no other means of generating money for themselves in ukraine. Great expectations brings great frustrations. Why won't they use fake documents when people like you keep giving wrong advice. Keep making it seems like it's really easy there, many of them will end up borrowing money to ukraine to look for a way.
