You're not answering the questions of what food you avoid and what you eat more now.

I eat healthy food, take balance diet, avoid some certain foods and drinks i.e beans and every food made from beans, carbonated drinks or soft drink, chocolate, tea, watermelon, banana, potatoes, potassium, phosphorus, caffeine, kola, egusi, fatty foods, diary foods, alcohol etc, avoid self medication and i take lots of water, also avoid salt intake for some years but I take little quantity of salt now.

Sorry to ask: did you choose not to eat this foods or the doctor gave you this list? Banana and potatoes though?

The above mentioned foods were not on the list given to me by doctor but I avoid them because they contains high level of potassium which might build up in my body and will have no other choice than dialysis.

STAY AWAY FROM SUGAR THOSE THINGS YOU MENTIONED ABOVE

I still take sugar sometimes because I'm not diabetic and I was diagnosed with low blood sugar at the same time and that made me very weak then because I don't take sugar at all.

Glory be to GOD Almighty! I received intensive care and treatment at LUTH and I was placed on hemodialysis and given several blood transfusion and later was placed on blood boosting medication. Last time I had dialysis was in March 2016 and I have been freed from dialysis and I am now able to do things that I love doing and also resumed back to work before the end of that same year. Initially i lost hopes and I thought that I was going to die simply because my case was very severe and my blood pressure was very high, blood sugar levels was low, creatinine level was very high, BUN (blood urea Nitrogen) level was very high, PCV ( Percentage of Cell Volume) was extremely low, but Thank GOD for my life today. I didn't do a transplant but I took caution, i listened to the health workers, i avoid some certain foods, i adopted a new lifestyle, i do adequate medical check-up, takes my medication accordingly and completely avoid self medication.
Bro, thank God for your life. Kindly tell us the kind of food you had to avoid so we can be cautious of what we eat too

Your post is very silly. You want to blame alcohol at all cost. Poster told you that he has never tasted alcohol, yet you to force him to admit rubbish.

My sister also had kidney failure and had never tasted alcohol before rather hers came about through the same self medication on antibiotics. Thank she finally got kidney transplant from donors after 10 years.

You are very correct. Just today I bought oha leave from the market, I chose it myself because it looks fresh than the rest. It was tighten into the nylon with other ingredients. When I decided to select the leave and brought it out of the nylon, the leaves were brown and looks rottened, I thought of possible cause, the only thing I could come up with is that it was made fresh by some kind of chemical which makes it attractive before buying it. What if I got home earlier and cooked it and ate it.

I'm sorry but you're wrong. As a nutritionist, the first test for "real* organic food is it's spoil rate. The faster a food spoils, the healthier it is. Why? Because of the fact that microrganisms are attacking it immediately for nutrients. However, Food that stays long without spoiling are most times laden with salts, sugars and other preservatives to increase its shelf life
Ask yourself why bread these days rarely spoil unlike in the '80s or even fruits like all these imported apples that stay weeks without rotting.
So my dear, healthy organic foods spoils faster

What is causing the prevalent kidney failure could be more than alcohol. They should scrutinize those northern chemical laden foods people are eating. Nigeria is a country in the dark and very much on the verge of extinction. The system lacks basic knowledge and intelligence that people need to thrive and survive.

Which northern chemical laden foods are talking about?

And who is behind science? Behind all this beautiful earth you live on ? Perhaps you should have just found yourself in Mars or some other planets if you think all these things ain’t be controlled by God.

Education and brain power is behind science!

Black monkeys spend Sunday to Saturday praying to their useless Gods via different religions; they end up still being poor in science because they lack good education and high IQ.

Their prayers are useless and their God obviously controls nothing.

They are all dreaming of japaing to the countries of those with good education and brain power.

I do bro!
My health is my priority now. I need to manage it well since I don't have the millions of naira for transplant and I don't have extra life. I checked my kidney filtration rate from time to time by observing some tests such as creatinine, BUN and PCV level.

I don't take it anymore and all kidney disease patient most run away from it as this will kill ones kidneys within few days and take you to end stage of your sickness. I'm talking from experience. I'm not an health worker but a lay man just like you.

Wow! Congratulations. I'm a Type 1 Diabetic and kidney failure is something I can have if I don't control my sugar level very well with insulin that's too too expensive right now for a poor person. It's a very frustrating life living with Type 1 Diabetes

hismylolo:
As at today 8th of February 2022, It has been about 6years that I was diagnosed with stage 3 Acute kidney disease.

I begin to feel sick in January 2016 with symptoms of malaria and begin treating my malaria via self medication and later having fever with a very high body temperature.

I couldn't eat, i was very weak and I can't do anything but only to lay on the bed. I couldn't sleep during the day and at night and still doing self medication because of lack of money.

My sickness continues for some days and was still taking over the counter drugs until a bad day when I fainted and later get up and asked my neighbor to take me to a pharmacy to buy drug again but I was rejected and was advised to go to the hospital.

I was admitted at private hospital where a blood transfusion and some other treatment was given to me and I was discharged from the hospital 4days. I was at home taking the drugs given to me at the hospital and seems to be getting better but after some days, my health begins getting worse.

At this time i couldn't eat and I will throw up if I try putting anything in my mouth and drinking water was the only thing. Lost of appetite, fatigue and heartburn was on the high side and I have to go back to the hospital to put up my complains which I did and I was given some drugs (for heartburn and sleeping pills) to treat my illness.

Haven taken the drugs for few days and I begin going to the toilet several times a day but having difficulty to defecate and urinate. My stool was dark and my urine was little and very dark too.

This continues for some days until I begin to observe that I'm swelling. My stomach was protruding, my face and legs were swollen, i couldn't sleep at night and always having difficulty in breathing and was more severe at night.

I went to another private hospital and i was referred to Luth (Lagos State University Teaching Hospital) immediately after a test result shows that my PCV was at 10%. I was admitted in LUTH and several test were done and at that time my PCV had increased to 12% after taking malt and milk to replenish and gain some strength.

Sadly on the next day, I was diagnosed with kidney failure (Acute Kidney Disease) with stage 3 GFR and Chronic anaemia.

My brother, you need to be in the hospital if you are telling the truth about your health condition. Call your family members when you get to the hospital. I'm not different from you in fact i have no android phone during my own sickness period. I will advise you to go to the hospital first and begin to seek help. May GOD heal you.

You need to take good care and be watchful of what you eat and check your blood sugar level regularly. Kidney Disease is really terrible and the combination of the two is highly risky. You are at a risk of CKD as a type 1 diabetic patient.
