There was once a debate amongst Americans as to if some American soldiers of a certain religion (not Muslim or Christian) should wear long beards and someone answered thus "I am not a soldier, I don't intend to join the army as I don't have the stomach to risk my life. These people are out there in the line of fire so I can be safe, the last thing I am worried about it has long or short their beard is"

Female police offficers are out their putting life at risk, are paid low, don't get respected enough yet are out there on the streets to keep it save against criminals. Something I am not doing so I can sleep well. The last thing I am bothered with is if they are wearing an extra scarf or not. This arguement over the dress is pointless and silly.

Let the officers dress this way, it does not violate their uniform
For hot sun person go cover hair, what about those on law cut will they still cover their hair?

The regulation clearly stated OPTIONAL..

But Congo jews will soon be on their ways to start screaming islamisation and fulanisation of the police force.

Ask them how, they will start grunting like wild pigs. angry
you are a racist and a tribal bigot. So because I am igbo I should not have Yoruba business partners? Most of you that engaged on tribal war on nairaland are jobless.
Re: Newly Approved Police Women Dressing (Optional) by logizorla: 1:21pm On Mar 06, 2022
This is very unnecessary who does that? Must everything be about religion in this country and must especially Islam, and Christian leaders will not have the guts to implement anything pro-christian. And this particular change with many others, nobody will say anything, and somebody will tell me there is no Agenda anywhere.

I didn't miss any point and that is not irrelevant matter. This is country where people are too religious so there must be a balance. Whoever suggested that is doing his or her own job, there are people assigned to look into the problems he listed they should also do their job. Or was it Chris Ngige that left his problems with ASSU to suggest that?
Such reasoning to me is childish government is division of labour.

Okay if you are talking about balance how come the balancer forgot to make provisions for other religious preferences as well?

The hijab is not complete the one in the picture is 30%

Let it cover the entire face, so we will see the first person to balk

How will the traditional worshipers that are in the force dress ?

The whole thing definitely shows the hidden agenda of the IG. All he thought of doing was to show the various ways of how the Muslim female officer could dress. Then, input the earring part to make it look as if it is neutral.

He didn't just address the hijab but the other way female Muslims wear their scarf. Nigeria is just one sick country.

What is bigoted about my statement? Is Islam a religion of peace?
you don't have sense. When you declared a whole religion violent, it makes you a bigot.

I have no quarrel whatsoever with that, especially when done privately.

It is absolutely my business if a public officer being paid with my tax abandons his duty regularly to attend to his private religious matters.

This is equally condemnable and I will never support it: just FYI by the way - I am not a Christian either.

The US have their sensitivities and we have ours.

it is called discipline- it is a world wide standard, if any arm of the armed forces decides to make it a rule for their officers to dress anyhow as they please, then in no time they will behave anyhow as they please and there will be no conformity- even now they are still unruly talkless of when u tell them to wear anything they like because they are risking their lives - there is a reason you are told by a prospective employer to dress up with a tie and coat when coming for a job interview - why not tell the interviewer - i can do the job na, wearing a coat for the interview is not necessary? then come and tell me you got the job grin

Nigeria police, only good in changing uniforms every 2-2month ,but they refuse to change their abysmal modus operendi, and the way they are going they will soon end up on ankara and gele as uniform.
