I love the that this thread is very interactive. I have read through and I can say you are all doing well.

I have a few questions please and I would your response. If one should go through this route, can one enrol for a part-time study while doing the care support?

The other question is that, can I decide to change to a proper skilled job after a year or two of care support in a health?

Does healthcare support offer one a time to do freelancing work online, considering that one can be assigned a shift with no enough notice?

I will come back for answers. Thank you

The answer to all your questions is YES. As long as you are focused on what you want, you can do anything.

As for your last question, you need to consider your work hours before taking other jobs cos if you're meant to be at a job within a particular time, whether there is work to do or not, you must be there. You also need to plan your schedule well to avoid overworking yourself.

I hope this helps.

Please when you mean official can you sight an example because the hospital that I work at the moment only has an official email that has "the name of the hospital @gmail.com
Is that official enough or it won't work.

Please shed more light

In any case where the hospital does not have an official email address (Bleep@companyname.com), you can use their official gmail address but your reference will have to send his/her official ID card + employment letter/promotion letter (must be on official letter-headed paper signed and stamped with the official stamp by the head of the organisation or HR). The email address of the head of HR of the hospital will be requested to confirm the authenticity of your reference.

NHS Interview Questions

Whilst the exact questions asked in each interview will vary, knowing what questions to prepare answers for doesn’t require prescience or guesswork. There are common questions that are routinely asked in NHS interviews. Planning answers for the following significantly reduces the chances you’ll be surprised by an unexpected question.

Why do you want to work for the NHS?

Tell me about the NHS core values?

What challenges does the NHS face currently?

What are the qualities of a good NHS staff?

Can you tell me about how the NHS operates?

When is a time you have coped well under pressure?

Tell me a time you resolved a work-based conflict?

Describe a time you gave quality care?

How would you respond to an aggressive patient?

How would you respond to a distressing medical situation?

Use this one https://uktiersponsors.co.uk
All the care homes with sponsorship are here. The trick is to apply to the ones that just got thier licence not too long (2022). Chances of getting a job with them is higher. With that trick I've got 3 interviews
EnglandAmaka:

Luxury Care Home is not listed here. No need applying

I discovered that this Care Homes pay more than NHS band 3.

I've seen Care Homes that pay £1000 pay week. Free Accommodation for 3 months, visa fee, plane ticket, Free DBS check, free uniforms etc. Plus they will still pay £500 to anyone that refer workers to them.

I think the reason for this is because they work more hours. They handle body wastes, cook, bath the service user, run errands etc. Just typical example of what Nigerians call MAID

That £1000 per week its very hard to see. A lot of care pay the minimum wage or slightly over and would work out to be about 20 to 25k a year salary. ... £1k a week is about 50k yearly salary..... Care homes don't pay that much oo

Maybe you saw one or two with all you listed above but that not the norm, even entry level of doctors don't pay that high plus all those benefits you listed

Yes, they could pay more than band 3 but not certainly 1k pounds. It's usually 10 -11 maybe more in London. I disagree with the maid thing. Before I started working in the care homes I was a kitchen portal in the care home. They have thier kitchen section and employed cleaners

You talking of Care Homes setting.
But EnglandAmaka is referring to Live-in Carer .
MAID is an understatement; more like Houseboy self grin
Reading the roles of a Live-in Carer alone, I begin to feel dizzy.

Also, if the Care Giver & Live-in carer roles are not regulated like Nursing and Doctors profession, then expect that one Carer could start doing two shifts.
So instead of company paying £650/ week x2pers ( total = £1,300) they now pay £1000/week. Saving £300 weekly

Yes oo..I was just telling myself the same thing the other day. Services that I actively pay for here in Nigeria and I found myself wondering if this is karma, coming around to bite me in the ass? I wouldn't mind a health assistant job with the NHS for a smaller pay abeg. After all, I plan to advance my career, regardless.

But againnn, if way no way, I go go go the way oo ...Na the visa be the Koko. grin
