afrodoc2:LoL. There is hope for salvation. He has to stop thinking he’s shouldering the team’s burden… and that by pursuing personal glory, he’s lifting the team. But at the moment. Na idiotic player him be. |

Leyqute:I am telling you guys that he is probably finished physically you guys are thinking it is attitude problem. We saw it with Fowler and Owen in their early 20s. His decision making has always been poor the difference now is that he can't accelerate past well positioned defenders anymore. In open space he is still quick but he is not catching people and leaving them like he used to. The best thing that can happen to Rashford now is for him to be benched for a long time and hopefully his body can recover. Something like using him as a bench player exclusively for about 6-12 months and then see if he can return to form. |

afrodoc2:That’s not totally true. As a teenager, Rashford connected well with his teammates and made the right decisions most of the time. It was when he cemented his position in the team that he decided to change his game so as to score more goals. I agree that he needs to be benched exclusively so as to regain his game tho. I think there’s still hope for him. |

Leyqute:The decision making was always suspect. That is the main reason I was in the Mbappe camp in that Mbappe vs Rashford debate even when Rashford was on hot form. When a player’s physical ability drops he won’t be able to get away with the mental mistakes he used to get away with again. For example a quick defender like AWB or Bailly that uses speed and tackling to compensate for bad positioning will become exposed once the body starts failing. It’s not like I have inside information on this but remember I called it last year before the club started confessing about all the injuries he had. What I am seeing is mainly physical regression not attitude problem. |

nitrogen:Ronaldo’s mentality and fighting spirit is superior. That is the main reason there is even a Messi vs Ronaldo debate. On pure natural talent Messi is superior but Ronaldo has a pathological and desperate need to win. |

CrystalTiger:See ehn. This thing is just so annoying. You look at players from other teams and you see that commitment. They always want to cover an extra feet to put in a tackle or press down the player with the ball. Our own players go dey do like say we are begging them to play for us. They heighted Lindelof on Sunday and for a good 6 seconds baba was shaking his àss at the edge of the box instead of tracking back immediately to plug the hole he had just opened up in the defence Burst my brain walahi. I've seen boys put up more of a fight in a 5-aside monkey post match than these lot. |

afrodoc2:Very true. Hardwork, dedication, smartness etc. got Ronaldo to the very top. Messi is way more talented. |

nitrogen:Mos def. It takes more than just natural ability. Meanwhile for those of you who dropped your Greenwood stock i am presenting another option. He is just 16 so it might take a few years for the investment to reap benefits. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhOfLyL0mGo |

afrodoc2:Pogba vibes. Seems to lack pace. Extremely talented and skillful. Unlike Pogba, he doesn’t showboat. Releases the ball quickly. Can pass. Good vision too. Best position seems to be CM/AM. Lots of potential. Can make it in the PL with right guidance and mentoring. |

afrodoc2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TJiNzZXXIc There’s a huge difference between the 18 year old and the 24 year old. More team-play and team cohesion. Less forcing play and running into walls. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 12:44pm On Mar 10, 2022*. Modified: 3:46pm On Mar 10, 2022 |
Leyqute:Yeah. He is 18yr old Pogba with more defensive awareness and work rate but with less passing and shooting ability. He almost always plays as part of a double pivot. He is a no 8 not an AM. His pace is good for a CM. I think the major problem with the youth players coming through is that so many of them are midfielders so they will in effect cannibalise one another like crabs. Out of about 10 of them not more than 2 or 3 will make it here. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 1:09pm On Mar 10, 2022 |
You’re right Afrodoc. He’s more an 8 than a 10. Had 8 in mind when I mentioned AM tho. We don’t have the system and will to fastrack young talents into the first team. Hannibal should be having cameo appearances by now. |

afrodoc2:Do you think this is driven by the fact that over nearly 3 tenures, United have stuck to the double pivot midfield, consequently, there is a focus on developing midfielders who thrive in that system? Is this a sign that United are now drifting away from the development of pacy forward/ attacking players to midfielders, so as to compliment the tactics of the senior team? Thoughts.. |
