Keep quiet! Stop saying what you don't know.

What do you mean by "a hotel in a place like VI"?
Is hotel a beauty or fashion outfit?
What has looks got to do with hospitality and hoteling?

I've worked in Federal palace and Eko Hotel respectively; all in VI and I know so many short guys and ladies working as receptionist in these hotels without discrimination of any kind.

My ex works in Chevron Hotels at Chevron drive lekki and he's average (though he calls himself short man). One of their receptionist is a shorty too. So what are trying to say?

You're also wrong to say someone should consider their body shape and type before going for certain jobs. Mehn! Like what law says that or its you who's just coming up with warped opinions?

Abeg shift!

U need to keep quiet.
Many hotels don't employ ugly gals or short ladies.

Infact am yet to see a hotel with a very female staff.

If she is telling the truth then she probably didn’t package herself well.

You can be hot and short. You can also be tall and tacky. It is about packaging.

She should have wore a 6 inches killer heels with a hot and sexy gown.

If she likes she should go into prostitution just because she was not picked for a job. What kind of nonsense talk is this?

I know I may get some backlashes for this on Nairaland but the truth is some industries deal more with looks than any other thing, hospitality (I mean the top ones) is one of them. Even if you apply for some position in bank without an extreme enticing body/shape, you will not be selected.
It's a known fact everywhere not just in Nigeria, you should know your look/ body shape can get you disqualified for some jobs.

I remember someone saying "ooomo, una get fine fine girls for here o" when I was working for one company few years ago. The truth is beauty is one of the things they consider in that company when recruiting (not only for girls), because they believe they sell looks and naturally or not, you must be presentable at all times.
Most top hospitality need modelled structured individuals especially at the front office or someone with banging body as Yinkaolusesi16 says. It's the plain truth, it's not as if they are selling them, but they add value to the company. It's a form of indoor advert. You may understand better when you have your own business.

Sorry about that babe, but the best for you will soon come where you would be greatly valued just for who you are.
Flesh and bones did not reveal this to you...

If you have said a potential employee in such place should dress well and neat, I would have agreed with u. But height and all the other stuff u mentioned are way out of it.
Unless , if the customers are perverts though

Why I always advocate that short people shouldn't be getting married to each other.

The government needs to prohibit union. With the rate at which short people are getting married now, the average height in Nigeria might be 3 feet in years to come.
My parents are short but I am a tall guy. Apart from Gene or genetics, nutrition also has a role to play.

Some jobs require certain body type and even looks.

Back then when I was in Technical College, my department (Mechanical Engineering) don't admit short people.
In fact, you have to present a medical fitness certificate from a Government Hospital certifying that you are fit before you will be admitted.

You are just too uncouth and local. No decorum at all when responding to someone's post on a public forum. Chronic attention seeker.

Don't mind them jare, Naija mentality has programmed majority of them to think like olosho, body and looks replaces competence for job qualification, after they'll be shouting feminism slogan of of sexualization. Imagine employing attractive female to lure bank customers, and the society seems comfortable with the semi prostitution going on. Fuckery everywhere
