I thought the Government claimed to have clamped down on this people. My Girl friend that normally calls me every minute hasn't called since yesterday. I'm guessing she has also received the message. Shebe very soon all these loan apps will pack up. Very good. People will then have to go to banks eg Gtb, first bank, drop collateral and wait 6 months to get 100k (that will be refused sef).
The alternative is to ask friends and family who will never give.

Unfair as it may seem ie the high interest rate, the person should have rejected it!
Once you agree to their terms and take the loan, you have no right to complain of their interest.

I don't subscribe to borrowing and not paying but most times this loan sharks sets up to be exploitative.
First how do you give a loan of 7-14 days and set interest at over 25%. People are desperate and need help by any means not minding the consequence. A drowning man will catch at a straw.
Most people that defaults on this loans don't set out to do so. Life happens, sometimes things don't work out the way we plan. Instead of them to encourage the person to pay they even make it more difficult to pay. You gave someone a loan at 30% a month, the person defaults and you charge the person 2% penalty everyday on top of the unpaid loan and it keeps compounding. How is this person going to pay the loan? He couldn't pay at 30%, is it at 60% compounding that he will pay?
At least allow the person pay the interest and extend the loan like a fresh loan.
This Loan apps are highly exploitative and that is why they will keep having high default rate.
How do you defame a person and you are still charging the person penalty everyday? Does it even make sense. Me for one I will find it difficult to still go ahead and pay back that loan, let heaven fall, if you don't understand with me and defame me.
Like I said I am not standing forth for a debtor, but the truth is this loan apps are the cause of their own problem. Let them be more humane.

A 200k loan from sterling bank would cost you a yearly interest of about 40k. A 60k loan from Sokoloan would cost you a weekly interest of 15k. Why wouldn't customers default? You have option to take from sterling Bank at 27% PA. Why then go collect from those charging 50% for 2 weeks?

Do you not realize that anywhere in the world you take unsecured, high risk loans, the interest rate will be high? Abi if it from Nigeria the words "loan shark" originated from?
Go to your local money lender on your street and ask for 20k and hear how much interest you will pay, failure to which you may loose your collateral eg car, bike, phone without prompt payment.

Useless fools, happened to me .. I had the money to pay back.. after I defaulted for 2 days.. my Dad called, my my mum called asking why I borrowed money and didn't pay back.. I was so embarrassed. I locked up and didn't pay them again. When they called , I insulted the hell out of them..
