Dear gurus in the house. My passport will be expiring on feb 2023. Am an applicant for Sept intake.
A friend told me that I will b denied visa because my passport will be less than 6 months by Sept.
I called the immigration and they told me that I can't renew my passport now.
Please is it true that you can't be granted visa on a passport that will be expiring in less than 6 months?

Passports
Ideally, your passport should still have at least 6 months validity when you return to the UK.

Good afternoon my gurus in the house.
Please I need list of schools that gives admission without requesting for transcript.

I already got from Salford, in Manchester but the tuition deposit is a bit on the high side (5,500) hence the need to apply for more schools.

I can only speak for Robert Gordon university which I applied to without transcript & reference.

As regards tuition deposit ,it’s 34% of your fees for RGU, so it depends on your course fee that will determine how much you pay.

It’s better you apply for a passport before September.Mine expires in November and I will apply for a new one in May. Typically you’re allowed to apply for a new one 6months before it’s expiration date.

Make sure your Visa application comes early,i mean before you have less than 6 months expiry on your Passport.

Try to apply for a renewal 6months before it expires, that should be around August pheeew
Meanwhile you can still use your current passport for admission processes.
If you apply to travel by August 2022, that's 6months before February (although it also depends on your exact resumption date and exact passport expiry date), risky tho. Just take it one step at a time

If you go festac visa office you will see people that can do your Nin change of name, with a cost of 5k, either correcting your names or date of birth, they have a contact that they will call and it will be effected immediately, just did one for my baby girl today and it worked,

Thanks so much, I will definitely do that. Although I plan to go to Sagamu, where I heard my passport can be ready in 3weeks, compared to festac that takes over 10weeks.
I’ll definitely find out.

Don't be confused, take it one thing at a time.

Since you will be due with the baby b4 visa application, then no problem

Children's TB test is just examination in form of questions that the Dr will ask both parents

The baby will pay same amount (IHS Visa fee, maintenance fund) as an adult

With the new passport system, it now takes less time to process it unlike last year.
So, all you need now is your NIN to be uploaded on the NIMC portal for other sister agencies (NIS, banks etc) to access it.

I will advise you go ahead with your passport application, when it's time for capturing, NIS officials will tell you what and how to go about it to be uploaded

Time is not your friend

Thanks

Congrats. But biko how did you get to change your baira to pounds? Form A or black market?

samsat:
Greetings to the house, just felt I should share my experience at the border entry.

Officer: hello
Me: hi
Officer: what is your purpose here?
Me: I came to meet my wife
Officer: so you are on dependent visa?
Me: yes
Officer: what is your wife doing here?
Me: she is a student of Anglia Ruskin University
Officer: what is she studying?
Me: MBA
Officer: what kind of MBA and what is her specialization
Me: well there are many courses for options and it include innovation, strategy, leadership, entrepreneurship and so on... (imagine I don't know this, how unsettling the question was)
Officer: what do you do in Nigeria?
Me: I work for a consulting firm (I mentioned the name of my company and I think he was impressed)
Officer: what will you be doing here?
Me: I will join another consulting firm here (at this point, I was just wondering where this is leading to, though I was pretty confident because I was kind of prepared)
Officer: how long is your wife's study?
Me: 18 months
Officer: so after 18 months what will you guys be doing?
Me: we will be going back to Nigeria (for my mind, I say this guy, go back abi , okay ooo)
Officer: where is the letter you were given from UKVI?
Me: (this got me a bit shaking because I cannot remember where the letter was, I know I packed it but cannot remember where it was. I searched my bag and my laptop bag, only for it to dawn on me that the letter was in the bag I checked in, I say mogbe, I begin to pray in my mind that this will not lead to anything because its already a lot of questions)
Now the officer waited and looked at me, he noticed I could not bring the letter out.
Me: so i told him the letter is in my bag that I checked in
Officer: do you have any money with you?
Me: (I have prepared for this, so I was very confident, so by the time I brought out a bundle of 20 pounds notes, that was the end of the whole question)
Officer: alright, welcome to UK.

He stamped my passport and gave it back to me. Then I started to breathe normally again.

The lesson here is to be prepared and make sure you have money with you. I think the cash in pounds saved me from further questions and issues. I have heard they can depot if you do not have any cash with you.

Good luck to you all...
Cheers.

I don’t know where you got that info from but from my own research into Aberdeen and from people that have attended RGU,it is a good place for students and there’s lots of student jobs available.

this is not true. My cousin got tier 4 visa with 4 months left(another with 3 months left for visit visa) . The student Renewed his passport when he got to the UK. Your BRP in the UK is where the full length of the visa will be put and not on international passport so noone will deny a visa because of passport valididty dates.

Pls, when did you apply? I applied 2 weeks ago and I haven’t heard anything yet??

I applied in January, and I was given a conditional offer to upload SOP, which I did. I was waiting for so long to hear from them. You can send them a mail on your application portal, they reply to mail faster.

Send a mail to them from the application portal stating the conditional offer, your name, course detail and applicant ID. Also, let them know that you have uploaded the condition(I guess you have)

Update wey don already cast. They know all we do to get here. For now, they will turn a blind eye because they need our money and manpower in their understaffed health sector. They're just biding their time. British go soon tighten their border.

You can either use Form A or black market.
Form A is cheaper and slower. Black market is faster and expensive. Pick your poison.
