Good morning everyone, please I sent someone my Cv to submit at Nigeria Ports Authority in Lagos yesterday, and I received this text afterwards. I want to know if the text is genuine and the meaning of STCW that I was asked to submit within 48hrs.

It's a course u do b4 u go on-board a vessel, it's called basic mandatories, it's not that expensive sha. U can get it done in some maritime institutions and some accredited places dey do safety courses

My brother STCW programmes these days are expensive ooo. Else you wan go run am for any kpako maritime academy with low certified standards.

My thought, the response was so fast.

NPA is not recruiting and that STCW is not required for that department.

STCW is for the marine and Operations department, the quoted department in that text has no relationship with the marine department hence no need for that requirement.

NPA employs in mass and not individually.

The above invitation is a scam and you should be careful.

An internal memo in NPA doesn't get a fast response in 24 hours not to talk of the employment interview.

Do you know how long it'll take for the CV to be reviewed, qualified names sent to Abuja and published in the dailies before they arrange the budget for interview and induction? It takes between 6 months to one year for the employment process in NPA to complete.
