You said it all, so many system player. Kante is still good but need a robust DM beside him. We lack a clever long passer from midfield. A proper winger that can help Havertz upfront. I have never rated Christensen, he can’t withstand intense game, easily subdued for a CB is not good, Pulisic too. Tuchel using his tactics to hide their flaws which is good but not sustainable at the long run. With the new owner we should be looking to build a formidable team that can compete with the big clubs both in possession and other statistics.

One thing I noticed yesterday is that KCM had more space to operate than they did in the SF last season. They always seemed to have a spare man somewhere in the middle.

Another dilemma is who will be tasked with marking Vinicius next week, assuming we stick with the back three. Chris is almost certainly out of the picture, Chalobah could fare better but considering his recent tendency to make rash decisions, he might not be ideal against someone like Akpororo. Azpi lacks the pace. James fared well against him in the second half and perhaps presents the most even matchup, so Tuchel may use him. But that means sacrificing one of our greatest offensive threats, and we're the ones chasing the game.

And like I said, that Federico Valverde is a problem.

Anyways, we have to turn attention to Southampton cos another slip up and we'll be sucked into the top four battle.

Our approach in the second leg should focus on harassing Madrid forcing them to go long and win second balls when they lose it. Azpi and James should start on the right, Chalobah can come in for either of them in the 2nd half. We should drop Mount and play Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic in a midfield 3, Werner and Havertz as the front 2.
As for Southampton we should start with the same lineup we used in the Madrid game bar resting Kante for Kovacic.
