It can't be funded with form A.
I suggest you pay your school fees using form A instead and show POF for living expense in Naira. When you get to Canada, apply for living expenses using form A again.

Difference using form A for school fees and Aboki dollar for GIC of 20k CAD is about 2.6M. That difference alone is almost enough POF needed for 10k living expenses using CBN rate.

Samxx:
does anyone have an idea on how to fund GIC account ? the rates I am getting for blackmarket is a bit high and I am trying to fund about 20,000 CAD

Guys who have to travel to have their medicals done, please if you can, just do IOM Abuja. They are faster, well coordinated and respond to email inquiry.

I understand Qlife takes 5-10 working days to upload result cry and IOM Lagos won't respond to emails.

There's no point traveling to Lagos and still get delayed with result.

I’ve never heard of any issues with IOM lagos, did mine there and they sent a text to me to say they have sent my result to the embassy and it got updated as soon as i applied. I don’t know about IOM Abuja but Lagos is very okay

From all i have read on this thread, the NSE route is no longer effective. People no longer get visas in 20days.

Everyone apply normally via the GCkey portal or new IRCC portal

All the best

thanks , I am going to pay my first year tuition in full but I also want to fund the GIC , I still have sufficient funds for POF I just want to make an air tight application regarding finances.

Online or you went to their office.

You can use wakanow or travelstart
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by DestinationCann: 7:11pm On Apr 16, 2022
Again, it's unnecessary.
I paid school fees and didn't do GIC but showed POF in Naira for living expenses and my application was approved in less than 3 weeks.

Reason I advised not to do GIC at that Aboki rate is so you save more money you won't get a rate close to CBN rate for GIC.

Again, It's your application and you can decide to do it as you wish. since you have sufficient funds for POF, Aboki rate shouldn't discourage you. Just fund your USD account and transfer the funds.

Shalom.

You have stated facts! In my own case I paid first semester fees and show available funds to cover my 2 years program without GIC and everything is on set now

Gic is stress and wasting money to aboki somehow
Pay your full tuition fees and show balance that will cover other expenses in your Bank

Also reading through the thread, most people have acknowledged that the NSE route is no longer effective.

From what I saw on Travelstart, it attracts an amount at the point of booking to be able to do that. If you select it, an amount is added to your booking total and you will be to reschedule or cancel without loosing all of your money.

Hello Chechem

Your wife being your sponsor shouldn't be a problem, we have seen applicants with sponsors in Canada getting Visa.. You just have to show the Visa Officer concrete reasons that you would come back after your studies in Canada, and this will fly if you have home ties like your Job, investments here, landed properties, companies e.t.c. You cant obviously use your family as home tie, since your wife and kids are in Canada..

And please do not try to hide the fact that your wife is in Canada cos they already know, dwell more on your other home ties and use them to convince the Visa officer that you will surely return back to your country (Even though we know you wont come back since your wife is already there)..

Spousal permit is another route you can explore..

Peace
Chechem:

Please Makano, help me answer this peace.
My wife is already in Canada and a permanent resident but she can sponsor me to come to Canada at the moment. I want to make her my sponsor, will it affect my application?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by makano: 7:53pm On Apr 16, 2022
Hello Joedave

Your sponsor will have to submit his/her SOA, it is very compulsory, you cant avoid it..

You can do a Deed gift from him and if you know you have the required funds in your statement of account, then you can apply as a self sponsor, since you are doubting his own statement of account..

But note that you cant do without submitting your sponsor's statement of account for proof of funds..

Peace
Joedave25:
Good morning everyone,. ..... I'm preparing my documents for my application but I need clarification on POF.....I have access to some funds that will augment what I have already in my personal account and because I want to avoid "Lump sum" wahala...my brother agreed to stand as the sponsor so he can make his business account and CAC relevant documents available for the processing. My questions is

***** Can a Deed (Cash) gift from him suffice upon transfering the fund without presenting his company's bank statement?......

**** The company bank's statement is not robust as such that's why I'm trying to see if I can avoid presenting the statement.

****I would have loved to use his personal account but the inflows/outflows are not good enough..

Please Gurus shud help clarify me here......

Next was one guy asking for enrollment letter and admission letter, that guy made my anger increase ,he started saying he is not seeing where my program begins and ends, I told him to wear my glasses maybe he will see better, he started snapping my documents and said he will report it, I told him to go ahead, he started asking colleague what should he do, his collegue asked him is there a reason to report, he then cleared me, I just took my papers and sighed, people on Egyptair queue were just laughing and said I have scattered table and chairs . Next was to get my flight ticket they scanned my hand luggages and they made up 14kg, I knew that if I said a word now this people will just vex for me, I just gave the girl 1k before she says anything and told her to give me better seat, she gave me window seat for both flight. They didn't have to say it.
There are some things they did that's similar or even more than NSE requirements but then, I'll leave everyone to do what they believe works. Too much words don't fill up the basket.

Wishing everyone expecting PPR a positive response from IRCC

I have personally decided that I'll fund this Canada waka with CBN rate all through. I won't buy Aboki dollar ooo.

Difference is annoyingly much!! I really don't know why we have Aboki rate and it's that high!!
