The way you're talking it's very obvious that you have never run a business before in Nigeria.

Dem never show you pepper before!

The reason you're taking sides with the man is cos he's your husband's friend; try and be objective by putting yourself in the shoes of the owner of the Uber car. Do you know if he borrowed money to buy it and his creditors are on his neck to make payment?

With your kind of mindset I strongly advise that you remain in paid employment cos if you ever decide to run a business with your soft mentality in Nigeria that business will not go beyond 5 months before your employees steal you blind!

Different strokes for different folks.
Everybody reacts d way it pinches them

Hope you are following up all the offers here,
Cos there have been atleast 5 offers since u started searching for cars on this platform.

Then when I was renting I'm always the first to initiate contact to owners even if the jurisdiction is obviously not in my favour yet I still go ahead to convince the person that weekly alert and good driving skills is all that matters.

Non of my partners ever stayed close by, the last one I wanted to take b4 I bought my car a week after was at Mowe b4 redeem, what discouraged me was the young man talked like he knows too much whereas he doesn't I didn't reveiw to him my moniker even when he asked, again, how will you expect me to always bring your car to you once every week from Abule egba? Say who did?? Oga do you know the distance and traffic? Again he wanted an unnegotiable weekly amount of 30/35k I've forgotten but I know it either of the two yet he wants us to share maintenance and repairs. I just leave am Waka go.

The following week I just vex go sell my entire farm, add money go buy my Mercedes Benzgrin

I agree with you Benz are very fuel economical, same with other German machines like Audi and Volkswagen but if it does consume fuel it means something is wrong.
That car should be a 2.0 engine, I have someone that bought it for wifey he even said it have more fuel economy than Corolla.

You're very correct, most modern vehicles don't consume fuel at all, every thing about engineering is now about economy reason they're producing hybrid electronic and solar energy cars now. Researches are on going on the dailys

Have been trying to get the logic to how a grown-up man will accept a car worth 4million under Hire -purchase. Every week he has to bring 40k or he would not be allowed to pick the car the following week.
No matter the distance, he has to return the car to his partner location every blessed day.
To crown it all, payment must be done every Friday . He drives the car Monday to Thursday, while his partner makes use of the car for personal needs every Friday. Imagine ? Friday of all day. Failure to remit 40k when expected means he dare not come around on Saturday to pick the car.
Pls, with all this restrictions can the driver still meet up with out default?
Same driver is to repairs and service the car when necessary.
Some people are just heartless and wicked. I wish someone can deliver this man from this slavery contract he went and put himself. People are suffering in this country. Every week he had to borrow some cash to meet up with payment.
Now I heard he want to get loan from one of this banks so as to pay up and get full ownership of the car. Hmm.
God bless all the responsible men out there. You shall never labour in vain.
Happy weekend my people.

Are you sure this deal is on HP? I mean who signs a HP deal and still relinquishes the car to the owner during the weekend?

As long as the driver has never defaulted, he’s the owner (temporary) of the car. The only time the real owner should be in possession of the car is when the driver defaults.

Why we dey do like this for naija sef. Does the man not know the meaning of HP? The story no clear abeg.

I know he has signed the contract but if that man can go rogue and demand for review of the contract. There is no where on earth where the car owner uses the car on weekends, not even for rental, let alone HP. He should involve the police again and demand he should be in FULL custody of the car. What the owner can do is just to inspect the car, even that isn't necessary as long as the weekly remittance is being paid by the driver.

That owner is extremely wicked and greedy.

peacefulhome:

I don't know how to do such oh.
His an old school mate of my husband. They just got connected few months back so you can imagine.
Do you know that the partner almost gave out the car to another driver two weeks ago . If not for God .
The new driver came to sign documents for hire purchase 3 million ( same car oh) . Only for him to first request to drive the car around to check . When he saw the car , he told the partner straight alway that he can't drive this car because he knew the previous driver and the driver never told him he had dropped the car. The partner then asked so you know so so person?
That was how we got to know the evil this idiot was up to. Police was involved before he allowed the guy to make use of the car.
I was told his Making effort to get a bank pay off for him while he pays radually to the bank.
Now my question is this, will that solve the issue? Will it not get more complicated going such route?

It is obvious You have also not run a business before. The man isn't running a business but slavery empire. If he runs a business, je2 will seek info before investing in ehaling and know that isn't how HP deals are run. No where car stays with the owner on weekends. The car is fully with the driver, what the owner only possesses is the car's original docs.

In a HP arrangement the owner is at liberty to decide where the asset would be kept during the duration of the contract especially if he is not convinced that the driver's place of residence is not secure.

The general terms of a HP agreement can vary depending on circumstances and what the two parties agree to.

During the duration of the HP agreement the asset in question still fully belongs to the owner until the driver pays the last installment!

So the cash out days are not even added. Friday especially Saturdays and Sundays.Na wa o this contract na Otutu Ze
pope191:

This kind of make me feel sad. I don't know who to blame, the owner of the car or the driver. Regardless of not being privilege to the terms binding them, I think walking away should be part of the contract, sighting force majeure as ground to walk away. 40k from Monday to Thursday is not feasible. The contract pollutesm and provoke the tot, I don't even want to analyse if there's any positive side to it. Please if you can talk the man out, save his soul.

100% there is no standard for any agreement beside the clauses they both signed and sealed. That is why one need a lawyer or understand the clauses very well before signing it. This is why I can't fault the owner, but there is something called "utmost good faith" in contract. Where both parties come with both and reasonable conclusion to make a contract work. What that man signed remain me of the movie "Mission Impossible" and the owner seems like an advantage taker.

First of all, have him go through the contract he signed thoroughly.

If the terms are as you state and he’s not far gone into the contract, let him retreat and let go of the money already paid for his sanity because with that kind of clause he will most definitely default in payment.

Borrowing money from the bank to pay off may not be wise except he has almost finished paying.

Let him involve a Lawyer.

imho 2007 Accord can never be uber standard for the simple reason that cost of spare parts will wipe out whatever profits you make. The transmission of that car is very sensitive it cannot withstand the rigours of uber/bolt work.

when things like this happens one just need to use h/h head.

Who could have imagined such a thing can happen as early as 9am

Aboki wey no get fixed address, no form of identification, mostly economic migrants and highly impoverished. Aboki, who probably just rose through the ranks of selling fruits & veggies to riding okada.
God forbid, if they did end up burning your vehicle or engage in civil disturbances. I can bet it, you won't get to apprehend the Culprit làáyè...even NPF won't do anything...

The best thing NPF would try and do (note: provided you're a notable personality) is they'll try and look for the head of their clan around that area, since they live in clusters. God help you, if that one no go talk say "Amodu don enter the next available truck, tey pass ajah...enter ijebu ode muje enter kafanchan" grin

All go be your loss, and NPF go dey use you dey chop, claiming there on top of the matter.
So, when dealing with a Man who has nothing to lose, you have to apply utmost intelligence.
