Hello gurus,

Please i want to be cleared, can elder brother sponsor his younger brother to study in Canada? If yes is there anybody that did that and got his visa?

Same family,Same name... why not? Even Uncles with same name sponsor, why not siblings?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by makano: 9:52pm On Apr 18, 2022
Why not, most especially if they have same surname ad they have lived together for so many years..

You can show further proof that he is your elder brother.... Birth certificate, pictures together(with parents) e.t.c so he wont be considered a 3rd party sponsor by the Visa Officer..

Peace

Hello Andrenalin

Using a friend or colleague as a sponsor is considered a 3rd party sponsorship, and the Visa officer frowns at an applicant using a 3rd party sponsor..
Using a 3rd party sponsor doesn't mean you won't get your Visa application approved, but be ready to really convince the Visa officer that your said sponsor will readily make available the funds for your studies and living expenses all through your stay in Canada..

An applicant stand a high chance of Visa application approval with parent sponsorship

Peace
Andrenalin:

Thanks bros…
Can I used any friend or colleague as sponsor? Or must it be my mum or dad?

Thank you very much!
technix:
Hi, congrats on your admission.

If your PhD funding covers your tuition fee and living expenses (with an excess of 2K and above), you can submit the funding letter alone. If possible, apart from the letter from your supervisor, get a letter from your department that states the tuition and stipend amount simultaneously.

If not, you can combine the funding letter and your personal bank statement.

In any case, please explain clearly in your LOE how your POF covers your annual tuition and living expenses.

Best of luck.

Hello Chubbyface

If he is the Main Sponsor, you need a letter of sponsorship.. To notarize the letter is optional, but if the Letter of sponsorship isn't letter headed, then you may need to notarize..

Good evening everyone,
I'm new here and 1st time posting.
You all are doing a great job.
I got an admission with crandall University MOM 2years program, January intake.

I’m the one studying. My husband and I will be applying together. Our daughter is a US citizen so we won't be applying with her.

I'm confused with my POF and please I would like your opinions. @makano @frankrobben1
My mum is my sponsor (she's business woman). She’s paying for my 1year tuition fee (it’s a 2year program). my husband and I are paying for our living expenses for 1year by selling my husbands land, our siblings are giving us some money also (doing a gift deed). We have the cash for 1st year.

My questions are:
- For the 2nd year tuition, can my mum use her fixed deposit to show as pof for 2nd year tuition? Because she doesn't have any account that has funds for a long time. And her Statement of account as show of income? but sometimes there won’t be any money in the account because of her business. As she pays for her goods, Good inflow and outflow though.

- For living expenses, the gift deed from both siblings and the funds from sale of land, are we to leave this money in our accounts for 4-6months?

- can we (my husband and i) use an investment and land to show that we will use it to pay for our 2nd year living expenses ? We also have a house

- our family ties are my mum, siblings, my business, I will taking over my family business, our house and land. Please does these work ?

Thank you

Thank you so much @learner247. Please @makano @frankrobben1 and other gurus please help.

Greetings Gurus,

While applying for a study visa through the NSE route, if you pay your tuition from the estimated 30,000cad, would it also be seen as part of the proof of fund to complete the NSE fund?

My program is 1year and my tuition is 15,384 for that 1year and 10,000cad living expenses with 5kcad extra left. So if I pay my tuition from that fund, would it be counted as part of the NSE route estimated?

Thanks for all your responses.

Plz which is preferable in the new or old portal, I have started with the old portal already and my friends are saying I should use the new one instead.
Seems new portal needs an upfront medicals right?

Hello good people,

I just want to seek the guidance of our gurus and everyone regarding my Canada study route pursuit. I'm 47, with a BSc Economics (2.2), an MBA and ACA. Pls do I have chance getting admission to study Master program (MSc Accounting or Data Science) in Canada, what's my chance getting study permit considering my age and degree result class. Which universities would you advise me to check.

Thanks as I wait your responses. God bless you all
Go for PGC in relevant field. Check Conestoga college.
I don't think age has anything to do with it.
But wait for the gurus to put mouth.

Greetings All!

Please I would really appreciate anyone who can give me guidance on how to obtain CAD/USD through CBN/bank so I can pay my rent. Buying at black market rate is really, really, really burning holes in my pocket.
Please advise based on your direct experience with the name of the bank and how much they allow one apply for+ how long it takes.

God bless.

And her Statement of account as show of income? but sometimes there won’t be any money in the account because of her business. As she pays for her goods, Good inflow and outflow though.
This should suffice because the 2nd year is still far away (the maturity date of investment should not be later than 12 months though). I also feel you have a solid case for it because you have evidence of previous sponsorship (she paid for the first year).

- For living expenses, the gift deed from both siblings and the funds from sale of land, are we to leave this money in our accounts for 4-6months?

The money does not have to stay that long before it becomes usable for your application. It only needs to be available and the Gift deed is a cover for its size and source. However, you may be required to send an updated POF just before a final decision is made. Hence, endeavour to keep the money.

- can we (my husband and i) use an investment and land to show that we will use it to pay for our 2nd year living expenses ? We also have a house.

If the investment is one that can be easily liquidated like the FD, I will suggest you do. But if it is not, it will be better to look for alternatives. The use of properties and selling of valuables for upkeep come across as though one is relocating. 2nd year living expenses can be embedded in your tuition fees to be funded by your mum's FD if the amount will cover it. A record of meeting between your mum, your siblings and husband detailing this agreement and consent of other members of the family should be a sufficient evidence. (attend to this with tact)

- our family ties are my mum, siblings, my business, I will taking over my family business, our house and land. Please does these work ?

I believe it does, but you should include your house and land as well.

Thank you

You should wait for others to respond. I have tried to provide what will convince me as a person.

Don't worry yourself, it will come. Could be this Tuesday' or Thursday . IRCC can't be predicted in its entirety. Some people's PPR can take up to 3 weeks after a requested medical is passed. So don't stress. Unless you are resuming in May in which case you can send them emails and web form as others have been doing.

Thank you ❣❣❣❣

Good morning
I'm new to nairaland & just joined the forum.

Please I'd appreciate response from people with similar experience, I got refused on my 1st application(Study permit) with my kids in Sept 2021(insufficient funds). I reapplied alone 31st Jan 2022 & got Medical request from IRCC on the 16th of March and it was updated to passed on the 29th of March and no word from them since then. It's making me anxious & wondering what could be responsible for the delay as I noticed that most people get response a week or 2 after medical is sorted.

Thank you

I am resuming in May too, and my eligibility has started since around April 1, although I was told my Medicals and Criminality have been passed.
So what you can do is send various emails to the email addresses and through webforms, or you can reach out to an MP to help you find out quick info about your app.
