His wife is a teacher,while he's an artist (fine artist). He'll also appreciate if countries where art is appreciated can be suggested.

Senegal is expensive country but is a good country with your 1 million naira you can still survive but the most important is that if you speak french language or wollof there local language many Nigeria guys and Nigeria woman living there some have business there

Gambia still good country because Gambia speak English but Gambia very small country with over 2 million population

Senegal is a shithole and fucking expensive.

You don't relocate yourself and your family to a place where you don't speak the language, there are limited economic opportunities to provide somewhat OK jobs for new immigrants and you don't know the business opportunities for your profession/line of business on less than $2,000.

Verdict: He should stay in Nigeria and grind harder.

you can travel by road to gambia when l was living in Gambia year 2004 during the time l was hustle area of senegambia because during the time am live Tanliding am only spend 1 year in Gambia before left there to Burkina Faso

He should do his research.. but i have once read about a very big art market in Gambia. It's a small country though but good with tourist population and tourist always like art. So my advice would be for him to go first. Through road I heard it's cheap but very stressful.. almost five days I heard on road... It wouldn't be nice going with a family at first... So he should go first.. see things for his self before bringing family down.

use Gambia passport when l was travel to this Asia country l didn't have idea about Tanzania l have only idea about Kenya because l have travel to Kenya before year 2009 only spend 1 month and left the country
