Please my Toyota Camry 2006 with Toyota 2.4L 2azengine has been grounded for weeks due to oil shortage and spark plug soaking oil, I need a good mechanic who can either fix or ring the engine.

A spoilt brain box can bring out black smoke.

Blue smoke and white smoke can be internal seals gone bad which can't be predicted.

I will still tell you to calm down.

Honda engines are strong but that doesn't mean they can't suddenly go bad without those signs you're talking about
my brother your bringing out a scenario of like 1 in thousands. Which most time may be a result of aome of our shade tree mechanic who has gut the electrical system.

Honda cars are good for fuel economy, reliability and performance. Same goes for Toyota cars, but Toyota is not really interested in performance, hence they give you an all rounder.....little of everything here and there.

If you intend owning a Honda in Nigeria, note that Honda Accord cars especially models 2013 downwards have Ball joint issues and you may notice the symptoms for less than a week before it breaks down.
Symptoms range from low wining noise when you turn your steering at low speeds to loud clunking metallic noise from eighter of the front legs or both.
If you are a meticulous person, you should fix it before it embarrasses you.

Toyota on the other hand like camry will not break down easily. But you may encounter sluggish accelerations, spongy break feel, and replace bad shock absorbers, tie rod ends, stabilizer linkages and bushings more often than a person using Honda accord. This I have experienced myself. I have owned both cars and I currently drive a 2007 Honda Accord, 2.4L 5spd Automatic.

At the end of the day, you should make up your mind on what you want. Are you a fast driver? Do you want to be eating other cars for lunch on the highway?, drive fast with super handling?, get a Honda Accord. But if you want to drive jejely with no stress and you are not in a hurry for anything, get a camry.

Both cars are relaible no doubt, but everybody prick no fit be d same lenght and breadth. Advantage and disadvantages dey for both. Choose wisely.

Can you refer me to a link or YouTube channel for more info or education about this 07 brand? I intend getting one for Uber but a bit reluctant since I don’t know much about cars.

It is all about maintenance. Their legs don't just pull, they give signs but many people always choose to ignore. I once had CRV 2000 model, i never had any leg pull for 2 years before i changed the car. All my cars are now Toyota but i won't say Honda is bad. Honda is truly rugged.

Pound for pound, Honda's are more durable, better engineered, and have far better engines compared to Toyota. The only problem is the double wishbone, which only affects certain years and specific models, just like some specific toyota engines also drink oil and form sludge hopelessly. Honda any day, anytime. If you don't believe me, ask Piyke.

I agree with you on this. Honda is actually the largest manufacturer of combustion engines on the planet; from generator, boat, car, lawnmower, to aircraft engines, etc. They definitely know a thing or two about engines.

I have also observed that Toyota seem to have a higher proportion of smoking engines on the road compared to Honda.

Honda makes better engines than Toyota.
How this thread derailed fast is not strange.

Toyota cars are more reliable, it's a world known fact.
Reliability takes other factors into consideration, other factors like tolerance thresholds.

Honda parts will easily break down if the recommended fluids are not used (try gauging a perfectly working power steering reservoir with seahorse) unlike their Toyota counterparts.

Their engines are about the only part of the Honda that tolerates some sort of negligence.

Or try this fluid trick with the Honda Gearbox of any year model.

It's easy to claim to be astute at maintaining cars but in the end, reality has a "not so subtle" way of railing us back in.
