Well, back in the days, when the average bag of beans contained about 3% weevils, we got to experience the crunchy nature of eating those bugs in our beans. They didn't change the taste in anyway the since beans is what they fed on but the crunchiness was an interesting addition. So consider that too.

As a kid, forced to down what was beans-weevil porridge on many occasions, my teeth were particularly sensitive to the crunchiness of those weevils. I could almost seem the weevils in my minds eyes being chewed in between my teeth too.
