Carport and driveway extension thus weekend.

Next is deciding on covering material. Any thoughts?

Thanks.
Tarpaulin or danpanlon.

Kudos. For years I tried to get my former employers/bosses to do a different car port for our facilities but no dice

I’m leaning towards Danpalon.

Thanks.

Personally Danpalon for me, if money is not an issue.

You may use premium emulsion for the external and internal. They require no screeding.
You may use silk, satin or matte for internal with specialised primer with film coat thickness to allow for sandpaper.
You may also use matte with primer outside if you want a flat paint with a low sheen weather protected coat.
Matte and satin can be cleaned although silk more than satin and satin more than matte.
Silk is N40000
Satin: N35000
Matte: N27000
Premium emulsion: N15000
Workmanship depends on the size of the building.
Transport is N500 on a drum. It's ideally more than that but I add up the rest.
The full painting I handle which I forgot to mention is spray painting. I own the equipments and handle that fully.
Otherwise I just recommend painters.
Is it true that if a wall is screeded, it uses less paint?

Please, what's the width and length of your interior courtyard? I love the concept for the privacy and superior ventilation provided. Congratulations on your build, it's not easy in today's economy.

Were these pictures taken at 2.30 am?

It's Ramadan so you are going to see odd working hours

A lot of us will be running at 50 to 60 % during the day

10mm tempered glass?
The space between the floor and glass?

As per the vendor, who is a NairaLander also, "Glasses are 10mm thick, all doors tempered."

I had them use an aluminium profile on the floor here in the master bathroom because I don't want any step like in the other bathroom where I had 4" blocks used. Actually I wish I paid more attention during my tiling because I would have preferred no step at all. But "who never fork up hands in the air" grin

As the General Contractor I own all the plus and minus on my site cool
Re: Casa Ava: The Finishing by EgunMogaji2(op):
The carport is also completed. I went with Danpalon as recommended.

Thanks.

It's a matter of preference and could save you some money but my shower enclosure measures 7 feet high. I'm more used to the standard USA height of 6 feet. Frankly it's too high for me.

So it's something for others to maybe watch out for.

I think he’s okay. We worked out a deal where I buy the materials and just pay him labor.

Granite top should arrive from Lagos tomorrow.

That's good.

I was given estimate of approx 500k for a turnkey.

Sounds similar to mine except it doesn’t include appliances. Just HDF throughout and his labor.

I have two full sheets of HDF and screws left over. I’ll play carpenter for a while making projects around the house.

Both of these pieces came from Dynasty Furnitures. A Chinese furniture manufacturing company in Lagos.

Solid wood was important to me instead of H/MDF.
Egun Baba, what's the size of this mattress?

I think it’s 6x7 Sir. More than big enough for two adults.
