Giroud in French squad that won the WC was not the focal point. There were Frizzy,Mbappe,Kante and others. At arsenal, Wenger made him the focal point even when it was glaring that he lacks some important qualities. Giroud is best suited for plan B so Wenger should be blamed for not getting a proper striker in that January transfer window.

If not that he had competition with Nketiah which Arteta was lucky to uncover after several calls and advise from me it would have been a disaster for us. That was the mistake Wenger had not that Giroud was bad. He had no competition and for any player that's not healthy.

Giroud on his day can look very good especially on air, flicking assists and bicycling goals (All these rarely happen sef). But outside this, he is so limited and doesn't cut above average IMO.
Maybe if used like France played him, i.e sorrunding him with hard working, ball playing and scoring attackers.
But expecting Giroud to lead your line and be a threat to opposition defense and G.keeper? Impossible!

in club football Giroud is not average he is way below average ,
in international football he’s average at best , though I still rate him below average.
A striker that never won golden boot, never appeared in any best 11 or second 11, went to World Cup and had no shot on target.

Scored 73 epl goals in 6 seasons for Arsenal and was our main striker. That’s an average of 12 goals a season. What can be more average than that.

3 seasons at Chelsea with a total of 17 EPL goals, what average strikers score in a season. Then you wonder why I say he’s below average?

Xhaka will stay and I want him to stay but get competition. We need senior figures in this team. We should stop making that error Wenger affirmed her made regarding no senior player that the young ones look up to. Chelsea, Man U and Liverpool have always realized the need for such. Captaincy to Odegaard is not absolute leadership imo. But it is what it is.

Our best midfield partnership was Xhaka/Partey. Xhaka proved useful despite all odds against him from fans since his move away broke on day line day last summer. Nevertheless, Xhaka-Partey should be the standard, any player coming should break it not breaking it for the player.

Xhaka is an enigma, I won't be surprised if he proves a better partner to Partey than Tielemans. He just won't go away.

Wenger signed a lot of rubbish just to have fake squad depth with hope that those Ayers will improve. Nearly all of them did not and that's why we are here with many deadwoods. Arteta is doing it differently, keeping quality ahead of quantity.
