Good morning guys. Please I have an invite for a graduation come September. I don't know what else to do or how to go about it as I'm totally new to this..I work and I can get my leave around that time. Please I need guidance on what to do next and if this is enough. Thanks
Apply for a visa as usual. Purpose of visit will be graduation.
You have to prove beyond reasonable doubts that intention of travel is genuine and you are not a potential overstayer. You do this by your documents. They will be the ones to speak as there is no face to face interview

Hello everyone,

What are the requirements for inviting family members to the UK?

Account balance, documents and procedures?

Thanks!

I could remember writing here about my spouse visa that was denied and i ask opinion about appeal and i didn't get a good or supporting reply on here but i didn't let it affect me,i can now tell you guys that my appeal has been allowed and a guy was telling me then that appeal takes 2 years lol,all thanks to God.

Lol! Wait until you receive the date for the court hearing. Then wait for your passport to be returned to them if you win the appeal. Then add the time for the passport to come back to you. You just might wait for three years. Don’t rejoice yet, calm down. It’s a looooooonnnngggg journey

I think you are right, I read most of the past 3 years on this forum, and most people with appeal process did take the length of time for everything to go through. I think the longest bit was the returning of the passport after winning appeals. I hope it isn’t the case anymore though, but people can only share their own personal experiences on here, they are not here to make people feel sad or dejected.

I found this group very helpful after my MIL's visa was refused in January. She reapplied in March and it was granted in April. I have sent her timeline earlier.
I will be explaining in details how we addressed the reason for the refusal.
One of the major reasons she was denied was because of unknown large deposits into her account, no ties back home, and the amount of money she intends spending for the trip was morethan half of what she earns.
In the new application, I and my husband decided to sponsor the visa though we still submitted her bank statement. We explained every fund that was deposited into her account.
We also explained the nature of her business.
She is a trader. Her business isn't registered. We also explained that business transactions was done in cash. We used pictures of her at the shop as evidence. We also attached the shop lease receipt as evidence of the fact that she has something doing. For ties back home, we sent pictures of she and her other children, grandchildren, mother and a little boy that leaves with her as evidence.
We went further to explain that the boy that lives with her will temporarily live with her daughter pending when she returns.
We estimated the cost of the trip, and also listed places she would be visiting during her stay.
Thank you to every one that helped, I am really grateful.

I submitted my application on April 8,2022 and did Biometrics April 19,2022 and choose withhold my passport option

I did paid email on 18th May,2022 and was told a decision has been made.

I went to drop my passport today and I was not given anything, they just signed "passport collected back by " .

For those that did keep my passport  option
1. Is the respond from the paid mail ok or I need another mail?
2. Did they give you a document when you submitted your passport?
3. What next after  passport submission?

Thank you.

If u wanna appeal a decision, when you file in your appeal its take 3weeks before they decide if they will have a change on their decision or its will be open appeal, open appel means you guys are going to court. u will wait another 3 weeks to get a court date ,then you will have to wait 4 weeks to get your decision if you win your appeal or not.so if you win appeal you will have to wait for 8 weeks or less before you can get ur passport but don't forget again some people get grace way dey speed up anything.

Good evening my mum was denied visiting visa today based on lump sum and inability to prove relationship. Meanwhile we both stated in our letters that I am the main sponsor of everything that does with her trip. Flight, accommodation, cost of living etc.

Also she submitted my birth certificate, wedding and graduation pictures that we took together yet they said she can't prove our relationship.

The worst is they said I don't have the right to contest the decision.

I need advice on how to prove lumpsum relationship, when to reapply. She's meant to come help with our new born. .

Check ur mail boxes for a letter from ukvisaenquiries. If u see one, then know they've received it but it is yet to be updated. If you dont, maybe u can email TLS first before ukvi if u see nothing by Tuesday evening. My own took 2 working days (Nig) and 3(UK). Usually both transfer and receive happen on the same day before this period.

From my observance here, it is completely dependent on how straightforward the ECO views your application - 3weeks min though rare now, most take 5-6weeks currently, while a few take longer.
