rejection that the Igbo visited at the
emergence of Peter Obi as Atiku's VP

All the Northerners that hijacked the APC where they not from the PDP?..
From the party chairman to governors, senators, Reps etc in the north 80 to 90% were PDP. El rufai, aminu Bello masari, mala buni, Adamu etc. we're all PDP.
Ogbonnaya Onu has been playing opposition like tinubu and Buhari since 1999.

Obasanjo didn't come into power as a result of any sacrifice of Abiola. Obasanjo has always been a northern puppet

Oga, this strategy does not work. It was the de strategy that made AD fail in 1999. National politics, presidency to be precise, requires building bridges across regions. SE does not do that. SE often condescends on other regions, as if they are fools. Yet it expects them to give it power. No, it does not work like that.

If we are to go by your assumption that none Igbos are being killed in Southeast, what about None Notherners that were killed in thousands by Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen and other Northern Bandits, did it stop others from supporting Buhari a Northerner?

The truth is, there is a collaborative hatred for Igbos in Nigeria by other tribes and global research have shown that such always happen to a group others perceive as being better than them and therefore there is always that need to team up to defeat that one person perceived to be better than others in order to stop them from being the best.

It happened to Jews in Europe.

America is suffering same of recent.

Even in families, other siblings always dislike and gangup against that one sibling they believe have the brightest future, others will always prefer to support and queue behind that sibling that seems to appear weak and dull, this is human psychology at play and even a British journalist wrote about this concerning other Nigerians and the Igbos before the outbreak of the civil war. I have forgotten the title of his book, I would have recommended it for you to read.

My point is, there is no single crime you accuse the Igbos of today that The North or let me say the Fulanis and even the Yorubas haven't perpetrated. North have killed more none Northerners than any other region still we all support their candidates, so dear come up with another justifiable reason okay cos everybody including you knows better

During the Pdp primaries, there were more than 200 Igbo delegates there but the only Igbo candidate got only 17 votes.
You guys aren't even ready to be President.

Igbos are very intelligent and smart people which you already know.

We don't go about wasting our scarce resources on fruitless venture.

Igbos knew clearly that the odds of an Igbo emerging as President under PDP in 2023 is very slim. Remember, PDP is no longer the ruling party that enjoy the power of incumbency and all that, and so PDP needed to make use of their best cards for this 2023 game and their best card was Atiku Abubakar, anything less won't fly.

Even God that created man also apply this tactics of using powerful evil rulers to destroy kingdoms He doesn't approve and later to do away with those powerful rulers.

Atiku even though he is not the best option considering sound leadership qualities and moral uprightness, remains the best option for PDP to have a take at 2023 Presidential election.

What Igbos were asking for is a national consensus based on equity, fairness and unity to zone the 2023 Presidency to Southeast just as it was done to Southwest in 1999 which made SW produce flag bearers for PDP and ACN.

Ogbonnaya Onu also reminded all Nigerians this in his speech last night so that those people that love to twist history will not say its a lie, at least he said it boldly to the hearing of all Nigerians, and nobody denied that 1999 was zoned to SW to pacify them for Abiola saga.

No Presidential aspirant in PDP from the South East cried injustice when Atiku emerged as their flagbearer, or even those on Nairaland here. This is a party they've contributed significantly to but the APC Igbos hate so much and call all sorts of derogatory names- Amala and ewedu party, almajiri party, terrorist party etc, and give the leader of the party, the President all sorts of names is who they expect to hand the highest prize of the party- the Presidential ticket on a platter of gold. The only two South East governors under APC, we all know they weren't elected into APC and we see the level of insults dished to them just because they're in APC. You don't get rewarded for disloyalty. That's hypocrisy.
