That's the irony of life, the poor and the needy who can't take care of their kids properly arena fertile that at any slightest knacking na belle, but you will equally find parents financially okay to take of these children even if they are horned every 6 months yet they'll be struggling to have just one . Practicing reasoning child spacing is good just as the OP admonished as it's good for the health of the child and the sanity of the parents, but the economic status is the main thing to consider here. |

Romanoff: To me they are better grounds for abortion than abandoning newborns in the Bush, dustbins or gutter. They are better grounds for abortion than watching children suffer depravity and abandonment. You think without the one child policy, China would have become an economic giant it is today? 1 Like |

wirinet: As for unmarried folks, the point of deciding you don't want kids is before the act of fornication. It's not the one you'll have unprotected sex indiscriminately and be aborting like you're hopping on bikes. As for married folks, if after you've had a form of birth control and it fails, have the baby and seek a more permanent form of birth control after the birth of the child. To me,the only grounds for aborting should be if the pregnancy is as a result of a rape or child molestation, if the fetus is not forming well or if the life of the mother is in danger so the pregnancy must be ended. |

Islandlady:From a woman selling Boli, you should know that combination of poverty and Illiteracy is affecting her. You can't find that among the elite, even if the spacing isn't enough, there is enough resources to get more hands to take care of them |

Romanoff:Unmarried folks have sexual urges and needs just like married couples. The hormones testetorone and estrogen don't care if you are married or not. We should learn to accommodate our sexuality instead of fooling ourselves by fighting it. Sex education and dangers of indiscriminate sex should be a taught to children entering puberty so they can understand and cope with changes in their bodies. You religious folk behave like the proverbial ostrich. You hide your head in the sand hoping the problem will go away and pretend you are not seeing it. I am married with 3 children. I just cannot cope with one more child. I am already working my bones off to provide quality life and education for them. My wife is on birth control and monitors her cycle. If she misses her period by 3 days, off do the pharmacist she goes. Good for you. To me a woman or couple should not be forced to birth a child they are not financially and emotionally ready to take care of. 1 Like |

Gee64: The most annoying part is that they won't be able to afford to take care of the children they already have but still want more because it's "God's blessing" so they should have unlimited children. The same kids would then become financial burden, not attend school and become poor when they become adults restarting the cycle of generational poverty. |

Islandlady:. Good piece! In addition to spacing give birth to children you can cater for. It is here in Nigeria you see the rich having 2 kids but the poor will have 5 or 6. Some children are "causing" thier parents today because of the miserable life they have been exposed to for having children they cannot cater for. Please plan yiur families; ,you will be glad you did 1 Like |

Islandlady:u may plan and space or stop but amazingly wont know how it happens, do u know that the small semen that comes out even befor a man inserts the penis to the vag,do u know that it also contains some numbers of small cells and if touches the vag tips may crawl inside for fertilization if the woman is not in safe period. Getting preg with that is 20%. A man may also having touched his pen, may decide to finger a lady and preg occurs, infection may also be contracted through this. U may think, he used condom, but it has entered be4 the cond. |

Anfieldboss: Are you supporting or opposing the motion? If a lady married so early that should tell you that there is fingers of poverty which is equivalent to illiteracy within. But, if she married so late, be rest assured that she must be educated and wealthy to take care of any numbers of children she feels to bred at any interval. |

Joblessness is the root cause, most Nigerian men have too much free time, they spend all their waking lives on their wives back, its no surprise you see pregnant nursing mothers, thank God a woman carries pregnancy for 9 months and not 9 days! |
Re: Most Nigerian Parents And Their Poor Child Spacing! A Must Read!!! by risinghero(m): 9:08am On Jun 23, 2022 |
A lot of reason are responsible for bad child spacing.. marrying late is one of those reasons. When you marry a lady at 30 you have just 5 years of at leat 70%-90% certainty of health foetus and from 35yrs gives you less percentage of a healthy one. From 35 yrs lady then, deformities, down syndrome etc are a big challenge. Not that this set of people even know that and for those that know that might be a reason for bad spacing. Another reason is some men or lemme say Family dont have good knowledge of family planning or some choose not to know the need for family planning some thinks its UNFASHIONABLE or think its one old arcade thing in family and rely on emergency contraceptive like postinor, menstrogen, and so on, so you know this emergency contraceptives are hormonal and CAN cause damage to your or her body. There are a lot of safe and non hormonal contraceptive. Go to the hospital meet your doctor and have an advice on family planning. Am married and my wife has a baby girl. My wife is on IUD not that it doesn't comes with it complications buh yea we both love it. Atleast we can keep having sex bare. And it not hormonal which for us we can remove anytime we ready.. my baby is 1yr and 2 months now and if all work to plan she will either be almost 3yrs or 3yrs before having another siblings. Another reason is religious belief.. |
