When I see some people complaining about the increasing cost of house rent in Awka; I wonder what they expect from the fastest developing city?
That is clear indication that the Aku
luo uno call by the former governor Chief Willie Obiano is working. House rent will automatically increase as cost of land increases. You don't expect the cost of land to be the same when industrious and Anambra born real estate expacts like Ned Okonwo, Obi Cubana, Omemma Ojoto,GSS group, etc are trooping in... Bringing their investment home. These guys buy land @all cost; If you leave them; One person can buy the whole city at once.

From the statistics released last 2week, Anambra toped the whole Southeast and Southsouth states in foreign investment attracted in 2021 while some Southeast states could not attract even a single investment for the pass 3years.

The controversial Onitsha/Asaba Second Niger Bridge Toll Gates.

With the completion of the toll gates at the Second Niger bridge, many south Easterners frowned at the fact they there are toll gates.

*REASONS WHY PTA TEACHERS WHERE SACKED.*
By: Iyke Ilozor

In 2013, the out gone Governor of Anambra State, Gov. Pita Obi, embarked on a recruitment exercise that cuts across all MDAs in Anambra and the lucky Anambrarian who got employed, resumed duty in April 2014.

After the state wide recruitment which the Post Primary School Service Commission (PPSSC - the Commission saddled with the responsibility of over seeing Secondary schools across the state in conjunction with ASUBEB for the Senior Basic - jss1-3) got their own fair share of new recruits.

About 2 years down the line when a great chunk of Secondary schools teachers have been retired and the Administration in power was not ready to organize adequate employment to fill in the Gap, the commissioner recommended that Principals should employ teachers to fill in the gap, and those teachers would be paid from the IGR of the school where they serve and these category of teachers where to be called *PTA* TEACHERS.

Towards the end (2021) of last administration in Anambra, having failed to organize another round of recruitment to fill those gaps, as the recruitment that took place in 2017 was mainly for Technical teachers and the number where very small, the out going Governor was advised to convert these PTA teachers to main Teachers so as they do proper documentation with the Commission and hence been taken care of by the state Government.

The various schools where asked to submit names and credentials of their PTA teachers to the Commission, and that was where the *PROBLEM* started.

Many secondary school management, sidelined their *REAL PTA TEACHERS* and rather submitted names and credentials of thier relatives, friends and well wishers for this convertion, except for those PTA teachers who could fight their way thru, some if not many where erked out and the convertion took place.

The wounded ones did not go to sleep,. But rather decided to fight the system thru all available means, and this came to the knowledge of Prof. Soludo who then cancelled the whole convertion and decided to organise a fresh new recruitment process for Secondary school teachers.

Normally after recruitment of Teachers in Anambra, it take about 3 to 6 months (probation) before they start receiving their salary, so their Assumption of duty was in October 2021, and before it could get to April 2022 to process for their salary, CeeCee was in the know..

The Governor has good intentions and will always consult for best practises and delegate to achieve desired results..
Let us continue to assist him the little we can.

Thank You!

This is all well and good, but they need to get past Abuja first! Had Anambra (with its abundance of human and natural resources) been a country in its own right, it would be amongst the top 5 economies in Africa! You can take that to the bank!

As things stand now, some envious twerp with a superiority complex will either sit on the necessary approvals or codedly act behind the scenes to frustrate the states airport gaining approval for int’l flights! Think i’m kidding?…..See the battle Obiano had to put up to get the state recognised for 13% derivation! Even at that, their evil minds just couldn’t allow the state get away with what God blessed them with so they found a way to add Kogi into the mix just to water down any benefits due Anambra!

I believe the Soludo admin’ is more than capable of seeing Anambra to the promised land….even with the present unfair political-economy and constitution in place! However, i would wait at least till Buhari leaves next year before expecting the state gov’t to have the peace, security and federal cooperation it needs to reposition the state for rapid socio-economic development!

The best outcome in 2023…not just for Anambra, but all states and regions in the country would be a Obi presidency! The second best would be a Atiku win! If by omission or commission Tinubu somehow manage to find his way into Aso Rock, i’m under no illusions that the imported insecurity presently going on in the south-east, and the regions marginalisation and unfair treatment by the federal gov’t will continue in one form or another!

Igbo marginalization is tinubus agenda not buhari,I told someone buhari has soft spot for igbos than tinibu and he laughed and was like I don't know what am saying.see it's tinubus agreement with buhari for igbos to be marginalized under him, can't u see their region took almost all the south slot in appointment and development,we are more safer under atiku than tinibu if u don't know, but the best would be obi.Forget that u see igbos making it in Lagos and even call that place second home,if a normal yoruba want to kill u he won't come to your face he will go underground or use someone, that how they are, they can hate u and still live, eat and dine withu,I have never seen hypocritical Nigerians like them .It's either obi or atiku and that's final

Why can't you wawa man go to your enugu thread and discuss your failure incompetent governor. Ugwuanyi is about to complete his 8yrs administration but you cannot point to one signature project he built, but you are here deceiving yourself over Soludo that's already surpassed your incompetent governor that has wasted almost 8yrs in office. Ekweremadu your Senator is still in UK jail but you all moving around as if all is well. If it were a Senator from Anambra, you all would have invaded this thread to mock Anambra people.

After reading soludos speech, it was encouraging… however on the column of transport he didn’t mention rail system on 21 local government of Anambra state as I heard on the news .. now Anambra to be sports domain … I just wish to know when news comes from soludo and when it was not …anyways I am watching and paying attention…

After concession of our river port no words? Hasn’t soludo gone to find whom our concessionaires are and what they are up to

In continuation has soludo decided to build the aviation fuel dump close to the airport which Obiano didn’t finish?
Because these two can tremendously improve our revenue…

Rail systems across 21Lga? That is more like chasing shadows and giving elephant project promises.
When our city roads are bad and need upgrading. The 3-3 to otuocha dual carriageway promised by obiano would've been useful to Onitsha metropolis . I just love how he promised to start work 220km of roads before dry season instead of promising us heaven like obiano.
I don't know the roads but we seriously need good roads.

This policy of allowing Zamfara males to stroll into federal schools with 4 but insisting Abia students get 130, Anambra 139, Imo 138, Lagos 133, Osun & Oyo 127, Ogun 131 is hurting Zamfara, Yobe, Sokoto Taraba Kebbi hurts the entire North.

Federal Character kills the North slowly.

Children learn by observation, if a dad tells his child to study but rewards the child for failing, the child will fail.

That child is not poor in maths, the child has simply been told by the father that failure is a preferred option.

All cut off marks must be same, the north should stop rewarding failure as a means of encouraging their wards to go to school, it's destroying our education system

I doubt the Soludo admin' would be the ones to finance the project. It would either be wholly privately financed on say a BOT basis, or done on a PPP basis with gov't providing the land.

I for one can't wait to take a leisurely airconditioned train ride from say Awka to Onitsha for shopping! These are things other countries achieved more than a century ago and now take for granted!
