MPH is rather too saturated.

Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye (kind of expensive) and the University of Calabar, Calabar both accept a Second class honors (lower division) into Medicine.

She might want to make further enquiries at those Universities
UNN and Uniben are on that list as well and the good thing is they both conduct d.e exams. So you could be lucky if you get the required cut off

It is inappropriate and rather uncalled for to tag a school "Rubbish", let's try to watch our choice of words sometimes.

Greetings the erudite scholars in the house. Please any medical student that got medicine and surgery through crossing from 100level to 200level in unizik or any other tertiary institution (federal or state) should please indicate so as to clarify me on its process, procedures and criteria required.
Does it require connection or should i say is it possible to switch via strong connection.

In UNIZIK, crossing to Medicine is from 200L to 200L.

G.P matters a lot!

Just have a good G.P.

They usually pick from the highest applied G.P to the lowest number they want to admit, depending hugely on the number of students that fails out from 100L.

Meanwhile, a good G.P of 4.5 and above gives you a good edge.

However, you must note that folks with 5.0 may also apply.

In UNIZIK, it's a lot easier getting 5.0 in 100L

Sir, to apprehend your texts to an extent, is it if i am through with 100lvl or 200lvl is the crossing mostly accepted in UNIZIK?
*can you also suggest any course done that can be accepted in terms of crossing to medicine specifically in UNIZIK? But i choosed physiology though.
*Did you got medicine and surgery via crossing.. If yes; how did you went about it?

Hi guys...I am a 200l medical student at the University of Abuja and I just joined recently.I have been seeing posts about people trying to gain admission to study medicine but to no avail, I'd love to share my experience with you. When I wrote jamb in ss3,I had 281 and in waec,I had 8 distinctions and 1 credit.

I wrote Oau's putme but was unable to get medicine by 2 marks( You can imagine how disappointed I was when my classmates who got lower scores were admitted into universities). The following year(2020), I wrote jamb and I got 294. This time,I didn't pick schools like oau, uniben UI,etc because I felt they were HIGHLY competitive.
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Cocopopsss: 11:07am On Jul 04, 2022
I looked for an accredited university that was 'easy' to enter( easy in the sense that if you have the right score, your admission is sure) and I came up with uniabuja (my name came out with the merit list). My advice to you is to look for a school that is not really competitive to increase your chances of being admitted.I hope someone finds this useful.

Oga, calm down here. Almost all(If not all) schools in Nigeria are corrupt including your school when it comes to anything admission. The school you're calling "rubbish" still admit people on merit. You could have easily told him they're not too transparent instead of labeling it "rubbish". There's no school in this Nigeria that doesn't collect money for admission or admit based on "man know man". Your advice should be, let him study hard to make it on merit so he'll not be denied admission. If you drew your conclusion from the fact that admission isn't transparent, then your own school is rubbish too. Let's be guided

After 200L.

The faculty of Medicine feels like 100L GP isn't enough to be qualified. You must finish 200L.

Physiology is a good course to cross through.

Physiology is a department in the medical Campus at Okofia in Nnewi.

Any Biological related or medical related course can cross over.

Its all about GP.

Meanwhile, it's a lot easier to make good G.P in AWKA Campus than Nnewi campus.

Example;

Somebody in Zoology, Awka can easily make good GP than someone in Physiology, Anatomy, Nursing, Radiography, Med. lab. Etc. Okofia Nnewi.

Why?

The courses offered in 200L are core medical courses, thus, strick marking. Like the MCQs that have negative marking.

While in AWKA, the pattern is not strict.

But to be on the safer side, why don't you choose you can still finish with if crossing doesn't work?

(@DVD4 chief, let the truth be told. I don`t really had the intention to gain admission into medicine and surgery via crossing neither to venture into physiology.
It occurence goes like this. With respect to my low jamb score 249 precisely, my dad called one man like that. The man told him i should change from medicine to physiology inorder to cross to medicine when i am through with physiology at 100lvl which i did as the man instructed. I began to source information on how crossing is done specifically in UNIZIK some pals told me it is done after 100 level.
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by SF123(m): 5:21pm On Jul 05, 2022
@ DVD4 While some said it is done after 200lvl, that was what made me to post it here on the medic forum so as to get a genuine responds and to avoid being confused too if i should follow that route. *Sir itemize the tips to make a good GP and what i should look up to.
Chief, give me your contact or facebook username so as to get more information required.

Based on your jamb score and O level result which serves as a pre-requisite for some school like EBSU, UNIUYO while some consider more of your post utme score like UNN UI specifically required for health sciences. I suggest you should consider UNN, UI, OAU, UNIZIK, UNICAL, UNIPORT, UNILAG, UNIABUJA, UNIBEN, ABSU, EBSU, UNILORIN, UNIUYO etc initially this institution is the one i can attest to, they are considered to be the best if you can pay the price in full but meanwhile all schools are exactly the same provided it has gotten its full accreditation. So what i am saying is left for you to decide if you can heed this advice appropriately. Perhaps choose a school that you can easily be admitted or you can able to beat their departmental cut off point required.
