While what you pick matters a lot, in the same way, it doesn't matter as long as you can pass through the school efficiently and acquire intellectual and practical potentials for the future, and not the school passing through you.


All courses mentioned are good to go depending on what fits into your interest. You shouldn't be limited by that but move beyond it to the shore of possibilities.

Non is a technical course (like engineering) or professional course (like law) which usually guarantee the best employability after graduation so they are all pretty much the same to me. These kind of courses you just study to have a degree to show in your subsequent job hunt so whichever one you pick doesn’t matter much.

I will personally go for international relations though because that might give you a slightly higher value in the international job market. I guess.

All of them are useless courses. In Nigeria if you don't have connection please go for health courses or tech. When I say health courses I don't mean anatomy, physiology.

They are also very useless abroad too. Not just in Nigeria. I have read of several people who studied these useless courses at Master lever abroad and have not been able to get any meaningful job. Some of them have gone ahead to do PhD in the same set of useless courses, but there is still no job.

Let's tell our brethren the truth, and nothing but the truth. The rate of success of graduates of those courses being successful in the same field is just about 5%, that is why several go into businesses of buying and selling.

You might end up as a teacher. Just avoid anything that will make you become a teacher in this country.

I'm compelled to respond to this statement because this is the thinking of most Nigerians, students and their parents inclusive.

What an error to think you'll end up as a teacher? Even as a teacher what's bad in being a teacher as long as you're not a liability to yourself or the economy.

The days are gone forever whereby you study because you'll be looking for job to earn salary, and you think that's the end of the world for you.

Life really begins after your graduation from the tertiary institution or whatever level of education you have. So, don't just aim to collect a certificate and be called a graduate!

Nobody is after whatever certificate you're holding. It's ordinary paper if there's no solution to the world's problems in your head.

Any of these listed courses can take you to any level in life. It is a question of what difference do you want to make in life.

Do you know how to become wealthy and successful in life? Provide solution to huge numbers of people from where you're to the rest of the world.

Let me stop by saying that if all you know and care about is where to collect a huge salary in this life, you'll surely become a liability before you leave this world.

This is not to say working in an organization to earn salary is bad, think of being an employer yourself, even if the only person you'll employ is yourself.

Have you not heard of bank managers always asking for salary advance even though their salary is about #4m monthly?

So, it's not just about the size of your salary, but the size of your brain!

you are on point Sir. But when you advise these younger generation on career path, they try to prove adamant and believe they can go for anything they like. One need to consider the situation of this country and your background before picking a career path. I had one very close to me with all my advice and counsel he went ahead to study public administration.
