You are very correct. I used to hate my parents not even my dad alone, because they abandoned me at the age of 11years to devote their lives to church ministry not even caring if I survive or not.

I struggled and suffered. I couldn't pay school fees and had to over-study to get scholarship as best academic student twice to pay for my secondary schooling. It took me jumping from jobs to jobs and like 8 years plus to get through Polytechnic on part-time . And by then, age was no more on my side to use the certificate to get entry level work even in the bank where I worked as a casual staff.

In a nut shell, all my anger towards them has dissipated over time when I realised how difficult it is to raise kids in this country. I have 3 kids in school now and I'm overworking my self to cater for them even at the risk to my health.

Let me tell you why I am enjoying life even when I have nothing saved for my future.

My parents provided beyond their means for me in terms of food. On education, I got what was average and never requested for more than I required. Clothes,I get what they could afford.

The best I got was advice and was taught contentment. So today, when I am broke, that's what I can afford and settle well into my brokeness and never envy.

My issue with you is that you envy what you don't have and have demonised your dad for not providing you a President's son treatment. He doesn't owe you that, what he owes you is a good upbringing and a decent education.

never compare yourself to Yahoo boys, they're are already spending their future fast! You're the one who has a future if you become diligent to graduate a medical doctor. Don't hate your father because it will cause you to miss a heavy blessing from him. Love and pray for him no matter what. Meditate and raise a side hustle to make ends meet because you'll be needing cash in the medical school. Your mom should place you on stipends since she's the one at your disposal for now. As a mother, there is practically anything you can do to your dad, perhaps when you become rich, without your dad, something would be missing in you.
