Zambians are killing the match momentum as a strategy. Not good.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Fweshest3: 6:48pm On Jul 13, 2022
This Senegalese center back is good. What is her name tho. She is their captain. No.8.

Your best player should start from the bench? Yeah right! Do you think that Cameroon is Burundi?

Anyway, thank God you’re not the coach.

O pari

Comments like this is what make people to give someone the hater tag. Ashleigh is not even among our 5 best players in his tourney. She played just 1 match and suddenly she is our best player.... SMH.
Anyway, let the coach decides.

I beg to differ, she didn’t have a hand in any one of those goals actually. For the first goal, I will blame Ohale and Ebi. Ash was a wingback, where are the CBs behind to provide her support.

As for the second goal, I am at loss how you can possibly blame her on that one. Are you sure you watched the game? grin

O pari

Going by your words, how was Ashleigh not technical and intelligent enough to discover she already breached the offside trap for the second goal? For the first, her technicality couldn't make her control the ball, she lost it to the South African player and still messed up.
See, all the Defence line are culpable for both goals and I'm not exonerating anyone neither am I picking out Ashleigh but the way you guys is hyping this girl is just laughable. Imagine benching Ohale for Ashleigh... SMH

To be the best, you have to play against the best.
Brazilian ladies played the US numerous times, sometimes 2 or 3 times in a year and used to get walloped until they beat the US one day and leveled the playing field. Same with Germany, Canada and Australia. Jamaica is following suit.
So, there’s nothing wrong with the idea.
GeneralDae:

Why must we play U.S.A? I don't think this is a good strategy if you ask me. We should be playing Jamaica, China, Mexico, Italy, not U.S.A, Canada, France, et al.

The only problem with this analogy is that the Brazillian team as at the time they were losing to the U.S were not struggling against way lesser teams than the U.S. Brazil from the 1990's were only behind European super powers, Japan, China, and the U.S then. So you can say they were at a particular level. The football displayed by our Superfalcons has not been encouraging enough to me, so we need to gauge our players with some half decent teams where we can at least see more of them a little bit.

This isn't factual. Yes she was beaten by the South African before we conceded the first goal, but she's not by any stretch culpable in us conceding the second goal
she played the goalscorer onside which shouldn't be so going by how he described her.

Bros, Cameroon isn’t Burundi. Did you watch her against South Africa?

Football get class. Anyone can shine when you play against mediocre opponents.

O pari

I won't agree with you that Ashleigh is stronger than Ohale. I pick her cos she offers what Ashleigh may not offer from a defensive position. Ohale doesn't need to go forward to make any attack. Ashleigh loves to go follow but recovery is the ish, especially when nobody covers. So, slightly, Ohale starts. All these doesn't mean she doesn't fall hand o. I was here criticizing her vs SA very well.

Has Martha Tembo ever had a bad game in this tournament? She's a big standout, alongside Chanda. Just saved Zambia.

You opined that the level of football displayed by our SF team has been disappointing to you.
However, the US coach suggested different, and believes the team is becoming one to be reckoned with at the world stage and offered to have a double header with the SF, a privilege afforded to teams they regard highly.
I believe it’s a very good sign

Shortie sends Zambia to the World Cup. Tallie try. Na those Diakhate babes fall her hand. Zambia are very impressive since day 1. This extra time makes one appreciate how the Super Falcons are the best in endurance so far. Zambia have now shown they can too. Banda is the happiest. The Zambia dressing room will be full of Mercy Chinwo songs tonight. cheesy

That last world cup, if you watch the highlights of all the African reps, e go pain you. Cameroon did well in 2019 mehn. Onguene and Ajara. The silly mistakes, the lack of communication, the mistimed passes and the Setpieces.

Almost all the big teams conceded from a setpiece. Teams no one gave a chance scored from there. And then there is Rapinoe, doing like she is invisible but still biggest contributor by far. We scored 2goals, sorry 1. I pray we score 5this time in group stages. Can't be going there to be scoring just 2goals or less. Disaster.
