There are 2 sides to this.

Some don't want you to come, that's the truth. Not because they care for you and do not want you to come and suffer. They are just plain wicked. The "keep looking up to me as the abroad guy" kind of mentality.

In a way I feel you aren't talking to the right set of people. See them as just acquaintances. Good friends want the best for their friends. And they are sincere about it.

I have a friend in Sweden, guy is on my neck to come, I am even the one telling him to calm down till I am done with my project in Nigeria, it's a massive project. At least I would know I have something to fall back on and I wont be under pressure to be sending money for any project pretty soon.

The other one in UK, a female has been encouraging me to come. Gave me the few tips she can.

Another angle:
Now to the cruise of the matter, it is not all rosy abroad. Know this and know peace.
If you must travel, please don't go with loan on your neck oh, else you will collapse under the pressure of repayment.

This my UK friend, just told me yesterday that she was kind of depressed . I asked her why, she said her dad requested for a shoe. And after doing her calculations based on the monthly household expenses, she would have just £10 (N7800) left. Hence buying that shoe is out of the play book for now. Imagine just shoe ooh. What if there is an emergency that requires huge sum to resolve.
This is someone living in UK ooh, when me in Nigeria is saving 400k monthly.

So before leaving this country, think it through well.

Some of us do not plan to japa.
It might happen though, but we do not see it as a priority.

If I must japa,I will just go for flexing.
I would have raised enough cash to keep me afloat for at least 2 years while my visa is valid.
I won't step out with the do or die mentality.
Truth is, I know I have this Grace, I am never idle for a month. So I know I will succeed anywhere I go. Still,I am taking it easy on the japa thingy.
Money dey this kontiri.

Biko, this life no hard,na we dey make am hard for ourselves.

-----------_-----------_-------------_------------_------------
Jesus is Lord.
Accept Him today and know peace.

If u are truly saving 400k per month and I not a professional in tech or healthcare industry, u have no business relocating overseas.
Take it from someone who believes legit travelling out is a good decision for youngsters.

Classic case of entitlement mindset. No one owes anyone anything. It is your life. Make it happen. No one is coming to assist anybody.
That is the ultimate reality.

Your family member told you that they are living in 30% of their income while earning minimum wage? I'm not talking of someone else's experience or hear say. I'm talking about MY own experience o. And this is living in Pompey and Soton let's not even talk about London

You don't blame him there are many others in his category. Even for a high income earner your bills will exceed 30% of your income.

From what you wrote, they are not discouraging you. They are just letting you know that the process is not easy. Also, many people ask folks about the process to travel and end up not doing anything with the info. Whereas the person you are asking for info is busy trying to hustle. Then he has to spend time educating you on visa processing.

These past weeks, I've been reaching out to my friends who are abroad to help me with links or advices to move abroad too. But I discovered that none of them decided to help, instead they discouraged me either by saying, "it's difficult to move now or the country isn't issuing visa now".

One of my guy in CANADA defiantly ignored my text when I asked him for links or the route he used to move, the other in Korea said the country isn't issuing visa now but he recently moved back and another directly said that it's very hard to get visas now to travel. But one Asian American in the States gave me lots of links to move to the State and even encouraged me to move.

But then I don't understand why our African brothers over there will never encourage or advice someone willing to move. Is it envy or greediness or what? I've never had any of my guy abroad encourage me to move when I asked for advice. If things are difficult over there, why not come home?

NB: I never asked them for fund cos the money is available.

Bro, as an old G for the game, the truth be say when most of these guys cross over to better country, they tend to relax; their mind no dey the hustle again. Them no dey game anymore. Them no too sabi road.

Na boys wey dey game for here to fit give you light on how e dey go and which scheme you fit take japa. Some good guys dey here on NL too. If you dey read travel section wella, you go discover them boys wey soji as things dey go.

Sometimes if the big country no gree you enter. You go think of the small country (wey get potential but never open eye), from there enter big one.

Try they relate with boys wey get kiso on NL, you go surely see light.

Resource scarce, nobody go just through you link anyhow on open forum like NL. Boys go spoil am.

Many years back when German dey run block account. Many use am enter Germany start study then collect US visa. Enter Yankee come back after Germany study them enter Yankee do iyawo then start hustle.

Some done even use freezone residence marry yankee for Dubai, and file for US immi visa for there rather than face the crazies at the Embassy for 9ja.

As things dey tier every where, try be on the look out for the new zones wey fit be springboard to your destination.

Anyhow matter be, there will always be a way.

Nigeria is better than Germany? Are you kidding me?

Life is better in Nigeria. Germany infrastructure is better. I'm in the UK however.

I should add to my former position by stating that basic life abroad may be better or worst for you depending on your starting position in Nigeria. If you are a poor jobless Nigerian used to life in the shantytown type environment and your ambitions in life are steady electricity, pipe-born water, modest dwelling, regular no fanfare school, regular paying job and no plans of returning to Nigeria or any other country, then European nations or US or Canada may be better for you, if things work out. However, if you're a more ambitious Nigerian but not a professional able to find well paid work abroad, Nigeria is best for you. If you're an enlightened Nigerian, Nigeria is better for you. If life is more important to you than electricity and clean roads, Nigeria is better for you.

Life in Nigeria is better? With high mortality rate, terrible health care, high mortality rate? All the "ambitious" Nigerians have a "Plan B" and hop on a plane to Germany and UK at the slightest occurrence of a headache?

I lived in Nigeria - 99 percent of my family are living in Nigeria. I didn't and my people in Nigeria are not experiencing what you stated up there. Nigeria is a huge place, with huge population. In fact, we in the UK are unable to bring some of our distant relatives over, they refuse to come to England.

The mortality rate in those Western countries is now higher than in Africa over the last couple of years believe it or not.

So effectively you are saying your folks in Nigeria get state of the art health care at their local General hospital.

For lack of a better term, I'm a Futurist. I wan't Nigeria to aim for the stars (meaning fighting for that state of the are hospital, better roads, security, good leaders, Ev adoption, space program, best schools, etc) ; however, I lived in Nigeria and had the best time of my life without state of the art hospital or internet. My relatives in Nigeria prefer life in Nigeria. They don't mind UK money sent to them but they don't want UK life.
