It doesn't work that way, if it were, virtually all Big 4 & Energy folks would have left the shores of this country.
The process is long, and it is not guaranteed!
People who changed diapers, worked at restaurants, guards in club houses overseas 2-4years ago have mortgages and live decently now.
The beginning looks tough but once you adapt, you are good to go.
people that join NNPC ,NLNG ,IOC,MNC ,Teir 1 banks Custom, politics , Hospitality business , Federal civil service .now owned houses (fully paid ),cars and even pay tuition for Ward oversea too .

The earlier you realize nigeria has nothing to offer talented people the better. Make your own plans and think for yourself. Nothing is certain in nigeria even when you are making millions in a seconds depression and hardship can change the story
how do you mean ? The owner of nairaland that you are using talented and the clients are in Nigeria and was offered 500 m naira for it .the sum 99 percent of all American s can never smell.

What kind of nigeria will you bring your kids up in? That fear alone drives some people out

And 24m Naija is just 40k dollars today (don’t know if it will still be the same tomorrow even)
You can make that driving Uber here
hello bro, please which country are you in that I can make 40k$$ driving Uber sir

That guy isn't making 24m a year.

I make more than that my brother and getting ready to move to canada. I have 14 tenants in my properties aswell in nigeria and business but still want to move . Sometimes it’s not all about money . There are some things some people see in nigeria that others won’t see. It will take time for nigeria to happen to some people. Smart people make smart moves for real and it paid off.

You can ask the politicians while all their kids are graduating from top schools abroad and all have second citizenship while the poor keep suffering in nigeria. You can ask the rich why their top destinations is abroad while the poor who can’t even afford to feed themselves die of depression daily.

All the celebrities in nigeria now relocating one after the other while some even base abroad. They know what they are doing. If God gives you the opportunity today to have a second citizenship other than nigeria do not waste time to take it . It will take time for nigeria to become a great place to live with all the so called corrupt politicians who care less about no one but their personal interest

Everything is not always about money for some people. A friend told me about a family who relocated back to Nigeria from UK for reasons best known to them. They were not deported and they still visit and return. Another travelled to Canada, she was working and making money but came back because she claimed she was not fulfilled. If leaving their jobs and relocating will make them fulfilled and happy, then its a perfect choice. Concerning the issue of insecurity, Nigerians may be at higher risk but I've come to realize that no place in the world is 100% secure and life can happen to anyone anywhere and at anytime.

Money isnt everything, if you know some of the querks that follow jobs that pay that kind of money, its not for the faint hearted.

You literally work 247, even at home, apart from IOCs any Nigerian company that pays you that much will suck you dry.

These beings are not really "Humans" per se. It's a very deep stuff than one would Imagine. The "Whites Human Beings And The Negroes Deities" knows better. Now I laugh at these fooools..

You are absolutely right. UK is kinda rigid in a lot of ways. There are secrets to becoming really big in UK and for some reason, it seems that secret is exclusive info.

From your convo with friends/ colleagues, why does it seem difficult to rise above 'comfortable' in U.K?

They just said the system isn’t designed to make you rich. You know many of them left Nigeria hoping they would pack all the money there. They are all doing well, better than when they were in Nigeria, but I guess they want more.

Reading Sterope’s post, I think I understand the whole “system” thing now.

A lot of Nigerians think this life is all about money money money. Money is good but what happens to living in a conducive environment where your mental sanity will be at peace? An environment so conducive that you need not worry about the safety of your children or even you getting kidnapped. I will choose to work casual and earn a reasonable pay and live in the UK than earn millions and live in this shithole of a nation.

That is about 2M naira a year, roughly 3500 pounds. If it was me, I will do the same, but only if it affords a pathway to citizenship. Quality of life is more important than the accumulation of cash. What's the point of spending your 2M monthly salary on things that would be free when you are in the UK such as healthcare, stable electricity, good security and most importantly, hope?

Also, money is just a means to an end, and not the end in itself. Money is meant to improve your life, not to be saved in the bank. So what is the point of having money and your quality of life is worse than someone who is a cleaner in London? in the face of life problems such as healthcare, school fees for kids, electricity, security, savings etc, 2M a month is not enough.

God bless you for this. Lemme buttress your points

As the V.P under Gen. Olusegun Obasanjos' regime, the then Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala alongside A.A spearheaded negotiations with the Paris Club that led to the wiping out of US$30 billion of Nigeria's debt, including the outright cancellation of US$18 billion. Sometimes in 2003, the PDP, through the financd ministry, led efforts to improve Nigeria’s macroeconomic management including the implementation of an oil-price based fiscal rule. Revenues accruing above a reference benchmark oil price were saved in a special account, the "Excess Crude Account," which helped to reduce macroeconomic volatility.

It's important to note that the reduction of the aforementioned macroeconomic volatility translates to having single digit inflation rates, which is not damaging to the purchasing power of you and I, as we have it today.

Furthermore, the cancelation of these Paris Club debts, provided funds to the federal government to embark on physical infrastructure such as the rehabilitation of Sagamu-Ore-Benin expressway; Lagos-Ibadan expressway; Lagos-Kaduna railway line amongst others.

Also, he has shown that he's a lover of quality education as he's the pioneer of the first American-styled University in sub-saharan Africa; The Amerian University of Nigeria, Adamawa. So its certain that our educational sector wouldn't lack funding.

It's really a long gist.
From where did he get such a huge amount of money to build such a university?

Don’t mind them. Another Twitter fairytale who go abandon 24million naira per year salary and travel to UK to go start afresh? When it not as if such a person is under a spell.

With 24million naira per year you can rub shoulders with a politician in Nigeria nah
People have resigned from shell And relocated to Canada. A friend of mine Left a Pharmaceutical Sales Job with a basic salary of 800k+ And moved to Canada.... He's earning far more over there now.

Is it a fair recruitment process to be employed in any of these organizations you are mouthing off? Is it not rigged?

In anycase that N24m will be worth N18m at the end of the year because of inflation. How do you save and plan in such an economy?
