If you ask me, I'd say it's FP worthy.
That advert was created in the 90s and has no erotic acts, no form of nudity, no sexually suggestive content even though it's a condom advert.

Can you say that of adverts in today's times?
Go to YouTube and take a look at what they call "Best condom commercials of all time" and see what I'm talking about.
As you watch, keep in mind that those commercials are a collection of the most decent condom commercials.

Anyway, you didn't ask me so I didn't say anything.

Thank u my brother for breaking it down for him...best c*ndom advert ever

I remember the ad. It was in the early '90s. It was one of the earliest efforts to fight a then silent but growing AIDS problem in Nigeria. Then Nigerians were still in denial about AIDS. AIDS was mockingly called an American Invention to Discourage Sex so behaviours towards casual sex did not change much as a result of this ad. It took the death of Fela for behaviours to begin to change. Infact I am looking for one of the earliest public health documentaries on AIDS in Nigeria which featured Dr. Olikoye Ransome-Kuti and aired on NTA back then. It used to send shivers down my spine grin Maybe Naptu2 can help me in that regard.

Back in the day, before the first case of AIDS was actually detected in Nigeria, the authorities used fear mongering in their AIDS campaigns. The AIDS symbol featured a skull and cross bones. It was so terrifying that you'd think that you already had AIDS, even though there was no confirmed case in Nigeria. The documentaries that you wrote about featured people that were emaciated and were like walking skeletons.

Then one evening in 1986, Professor Olikoye Ransome Kuti announced (on the Network News) the detection of the first case of AIDS in Nigeria. It was quite scary.

It was around this time that some foreign and domestic NGOs were running campaigns (in conjunction with government) about family planning and so they just incorporated the AIDS theme into their campaign.

The first condom advert was for Right Time Condom. It featured a man who knocked on glass and announced, "I have now decided. . .".

Right Time Condom was made by the Society For Family Health. Most people thought that the advert was funny, but some people complained about it. They wondered how condom and sanitary pad adverts could be shown on TV (Always had also just started advertising at that time).

I don't know what happened to Right Time Condom, but it disappeared and Gold Circle Condom appeared. It was also made by the Society for Family Health. I think this was its first advert.

In the late 1990s or early 2000s, health experts decided that fear mongering was not working and that it was stigmatising people living with HIV/AIDS. The scary documentaries stopped and the AIDS symbol was changed from the skull and crossbones to the ribbon below.

God bless you!
I'm Igbo, but sincerely I don't believe in Obi. I have never believed in him a bit.

I think he is an IPOB agenda and they are supporting him because they believe if he becomes president he will set the destroyer of the peace of ndi-Igbo (Nnamdi Kanu) free.

That will never happen. I will support Tinubu.
Obi is a religious and tribal apologist.
He can make a good Minister for Finance or CBN Governor, but not a president.
Sincerely I'm actually indifference in this coming election but the way and manner IGBOS are portraying Peter Obi is just too annoying

They cursed and bashed anyone supporting Tinubu or any other contestants. They felt Peter Obi is the only one Nigerians should vote for. Same Peter Obi who did absolutely nothing as a governor in his state

This is the reason why i chose to follow that same Tinubu they hate and dispise with passion

When you see tribalists comments you wonder if they have sense of reasoning at all.

How did Igbos turn the election to tribal and religious when Tinubu started the Emilokan stuff and Muslim Muslim bias?

Many Nigerians are routing for Peter Obi BC they see him as the most qualified and young with balanced candidacy, but yoloba Muslims keep making utterances of yourba ronuuuooo, yoruba turn, Tinubu turn etc. They even campaigned against Osibanjo BC of religion.

The division of religion was brought by Tinubu who insulted Northern Christians by saying their Muslim counterparts won't vote them.

Pls stop being clever by half
You are the mouth piece of the so called many Nigerians right? Anyway, illusion is allowed

Indomie generation...una well done o grin

Mehn! I remember this period. I used to think they're advertising how to board Bus because I was still younger then.

Other adverts that gives nostalgia feelings include Indomie, where guys play basketball, Bagco, Robb, etc. Later we have Imperial Leather, 33 extra beers with Shakira's Whenever Wherever, Royco Cube having Tems' Mum, Pampers, Always etc.

Good ol' days. The 90s is still the second best period after the 80s in the last 100years when it comes to Television.
